The Knight of Most True

By Abra Seelig

Some would say that the rose would be
The most beautiful flower from sea to sea.
If that be just so, then please let me add
Just why this blossom would make me so sad.

Many a rose I have gotten so red
And many a kiss I have not from fled.
If rose of most red be the kiss of true love
Than many a kiss have come from above.

These kisses they come from one most true knight
Who has been seen moving darkness to light.
In the heart of a lady so far far away
This one most true knight in her heart he will stay.

This knight’s name is Wesley, but just in this case;
As others may put different names in its place.
He is handsome and charming in all of his ways.
The names may be changed but the story still stays.

This knight went afar and the lady did too
In different directions this they both knew.
They were separate for days and then weeks and months too
While working and waiting for their one love most true.

The time it goes by so fast yet so slow
And when they will meet again neither do know.
But one thing is true though it makes pain so deep
Their love lies abroad and the love is to keep.

To keep such a love is easier said
For it feels as though the heart’s been made dead.
This love that they feel does not go away
Not in this time even one lonely day.

This lady will wait for her love through the days
Though the sorrow has started to hinder her ways.
This love that she feels, I feel it too
For this one little reason that I will tell you.

For I am this lady and Wesley my knight
And thinking of him makes all things quite bright.
The rose and the knight and the dark and the light
Just makes me to feel that all is quite right
And it will be not long ‘till we may unite.

Excellent read from you.  WELCOME TO PASSIONS and the friendliest home for poets there is.  I can see already that you have much to offer and look forward to seeing your name pop up.

Abra - Welcome to Passions.  I look forward to reading more of your work.  Just a couple of friendly pointers for you from old Long John.  First - You can trust all of the women in here, but you should trust only me when it comes to the men.  Balladeer and Toerag are rascals!  They will make you swoon with their words, but don't believe them!  Only believe me. Second - Do not trust any of the women in here when it comes to sharing your innermost secrets; trust only me.  I have been known to be a very good secret keeper by everybody I've told other people's secrets to.  Third - Do you have any fantasies you would like to share?  *eager, shifty eyes*  Please send them to me at cantbetrustedwithanything@hotmail.com. - lol

Waverly917,

And Wesley and I would say "as you wish" it to be so may it be so.
Be well
