There's a corner of my heart,
I have reserved just for you.
There have been others,
that I let pass on through.
They couldn't fill,
the void harbored there.
They left me left cold and empty,
so that corner I wouldn't share.
I let my heart be the ruler,
it should have known right from wrong.
It was rejection after rejection,
until you came along.
You filled up that corner,
Gave me a feeling beyond compare.
Gave my life new meaning,
and I learned to care.
Mistakes often happen,
and my heart did the same.
It was oblivious to the fact that,
someone else carried your name.
How do I let go when a
wrong feels so right?
How do I chase away your memories
that flood me every night?
What was my heart thinking,
When it opened loves door
I have no right to love you,
Though we'll be friends for evermore.
Guess I'll start all over,
Seal off that corner, start again.
but the ghost of the man I love,
will reside there until my end.

If you can't make it so,
you need to let it go!

If you can't make it so,

I know of this feeling and all you can do is to close it up and just let the love of memories glow under the cracks.  You have penned a beauty with this and your heart shows well.  Loved the flow and the ending really said it all.

It's better to have loved and lost
than to never have loved at all.

Someone (famous?) once said that...
and while it sounds good, try telling it
to the lonely corner of a heart.

You poem is touching, Kitty**.....very

Mark, Isn't it wonderful that we have this
'home' here to pour out our hearts? It's always nice to think we're not alone, but when it comes to the affairs of the heart, (especially the 'hurts') don't we wish we were alone? Thanks for reading...
