My Son made a mistake,

for the drugs he did unlawfully take.

So we all must pay,

cause the law took Our Son away.

Now He’s in Jail, and Our Heart do ache

cause we can’t go his bail.

One day on the phone

You said, You are there and I am here

so how can you know what I feel?

I say this to you My Son:

You are there and I am here

This is how I know what you feel.

I am now…

Sad, cause I miss you

and I can’t kiss you.

Mad, cause I can’t help you, in this place you reside

My God what kind of Mom am I?

Pain, cause I hurt you by telling you to leave.

I am SORRY, this I hope you believe.

Fear of what will happen to you

before it is all said and done.

Forsaken, I must be in hell

Can anyone hear me…My son is in jail!

Wondering, why you are # 41 and how can I get it all undone?

Lonely, cause I need you and you are not here.

Does his Girl miss him? No…I fear.

Selfjudgment about the chooses I made

it cuts my heart like a blade.

Son I Know I failed you but,

I know your love will never fade.

Hungry, I want to feed you all you’re favorite foods.

But, they tell me, not you,

what I can bring for your goods.

Loss of Faith, My God where are you?

Are you really true blue?

Father God Please Forgive me but it’s too much to bear. Can’t you see?

Please Please Please take this cross from me.

But, I know it’s only Satan, wanting to slip in.

Damn you Satan and Damn you again!

Worried, will Jail make a negative in you?

Will you learn new bad things to do?

Desiring, wanting to touch your face, to hold you,

to feel your warm embrace.

Depressed…. I, want to die, I want to kill these feelings inside.

Time, One more month, a year…or nine?

It’s enough to make me shout

My God how long is his time.

Now you see My Son, I too am in Jail

There is a virtual prison in my mind

And it is called Hell.

I've never felt so many emotions at one time as you express in this poem to your son
heartache, longing, fear, love, anxiety, entrapment, "there is a virtual prison in my mind". I can't imagine any worse feeling. He is very fortunate to have your love. Those who are imprisoned without that, are also imprisoned by rejection. A poem a week will keep him spiritually alive and well.

RosenMS~
Written from the depths of a mother's love -
you've spoken your heart.

You have the heart of a mother who feels
the pain our children suffer.
Continue to love and send prayers to your son.

I would ask that God let you know that any
guilt you bear is not yours to carry.
Be at peace with yourself, mother.
My prayers are with you.

You haven't failed your son - Our children make their own decisions when they're grown - Sometimes society and peer pressures overpower the effect we can have on our babies... Be strong, and be there for him... That's all you can do right now - I'm so sorry for the heartache you're all enduring...

God Bless - and Welcome to Passions

This is heartbreakingly beautiful. So many emotions I felt in this piece at one. I have no idea how you must be feeling...as I've never been in this kind of situation. However, I must say you paint your feelings superbly in this!
Take care and God Bless.

you feel the pain all parents feel
when your child has erred the path
but in time you will heal
I understand your wrath
It's hard to stand away and let
your little children go
your heart bleeds for them ,don't fret
how else will they grow.
I know it's hard but just abide
in Him who understands
after all He too had a son
and will caress you, help you stand.

Sorry your fist post is such a sad subject.
Be well

Welcome to Passions, and I'm sorry it has to be such a sorrowful entry. I don't know anyone here who hasn't been through heartache, let us be there for you and comfort you.

Welcome to passions!  I'm sorry your first post had to be something so sad.  I, too, know the feelings that you hold.  The tears that flood out of your eyes when you see your baby sitting there in jail.  I'm glad you shared these feelings with us.  You'll make it through this, although you may not think so, you will.  God Bless You!  Great writing.

Such a very sorrowful posting.  I could feel what you felt inside.  We often create our own prisons in our lives, but it's even more unbearable when those prisions are imposed upon us by outside circumstances.  I wish you the best with this terrible ordeal.

This is not your shame nor your fault.  We all reach an age where we are able to make rational decisions and we must be willing to take the consequences of those choices.  I know that it does not take away the heart but I also know that with YOUR love HE will be okay in the end.  Loving is what mom's do best.

Wow I never expected this kinda responce. You all are just the kindest people. Thank you all for the incouraging, and uplifting messages. This is what the world need more of. LOVE and CONCERN for our fellow man or woman. You guys and my family have just made me what to write another poem. That was my first one and so full of feelings real and true feelings. I don't think I could ever write that way again. It was just there and it flowed like a river. Although the words from My Scott "You are there and I am here" were spoken to me a few weeks back and had been bering on my heart as to how to say I do feel your pain and I do understad somewhat. So I sat down to write him a letter and I thought I will write a poem a instead. I am not a poet nor have I ever posted a poem before last night. I know it made you feel what I was feeling but, could some one please tell me was it really a good poem? What makes a good poem anyway? Do you all think I should write another. My family wants more but I don't know.
Hey Guys! Thanks All and every one.

Yes, it was a very good poem.
No,I'm not a poet. When your
words can make another who reads
them feel what you feel then you
know you are good.
I feel for you because I have
walked in your shoes before.
He was loved and saw his parents walk
the straight road, but he chose
his own crooked path.
I love the children that they were
but the adults they are now, is
not what I would have chose.

I've read many poems with perfect rhyme and meter and not felt a thing... and therefore, I didn't remember a thing when I turned the page. Technical perfection can contribute to good poetry but it is not good poetry any more than the cake pan is a delectable dessert.
Your poem put us through the gamut of emotions you're living with... we felt your guilt, your disappointment, your worry... and always, your love. So yes, it's poetry and yes, it's good.
And love this strong can work miracles... Stick by him, Mama... and keep loving him!

A poem need not rhyme to be a poem.  Just write from the heart and let it be.  That is called "FREE VERSE" and there are many poets who do just that.  If you spend enough time in here you will realize that everything from love and sadness to navel lint can become a poem.  Yes, I said navel lint as one was posted about that by a poet named KETHRY.  I do so hope that you continue to write as it is a GREAT way of healing.  That is how I ended up here.

The pain you feel is very real. No man can take that away. Faith to believe he will always be, is what you need now.
Be strong for your son. Sometimes thats all a son has is his mom.
God Bless you,
Pray for him, thats the key
*Hugs* Debra
