Last night as I sat on the back step...
I gazed at the moon in the sky...
With so many questions that never had answers,
I decided to ask the moon why...

The moon has been man’s ancient symbol...
For stableness, light, and true love...
When man lifts his head to the stars twinkling bright,
There’s the moon smiling down from above...

So, Moon, can you give me some answers?
To questions we ask every day?
Like: why do the good things in life disappear,
while the bad things just flourish and stay?

And tell me, is there any reason...
For what we call “love” in this life?
Two hearts join together, for “better” or “worse”,
But the “worse” always cuts like a knife...

And Moon, look what humans are doing...
To the planet they call “Home Sweet Home”...
Why can’t we just stop all the massive destruction,
Save the earth and just leave it alone?

Oh, Moon, do I see what I’m seeing?
Do you have a big tear in your eye?
Do you see little children go to bed every night,
With the hunger that makes them all cry?

Yes, Moon, I can see you are watching...
Your place in our lives is defined...
You were put there for us to ask questions, and see,
Like a friend..you’ve been there through all time...

Here’s my very last question to ask you...
Do you think there is life out in space?
I could swear I heard laughing, then I looked up to see...
That the Moon had a smile on it’s face!!!

There is something so comforting when musing on nature, whether it be the moon, the planets, the ocean, the mountains...my thoughts always turn to the One who holds it altogether! Lovely musings, Sunny!

Hi Karilea...
I honestly didn't see yours, when I posted this in a rushed spur of the moment!!  I just read yours...it's wonderful, and I still think it is really funny that two 'sun' people write about the moon at the same time!!
I'm so glad to know you.....
You are such fun and full of joy!!!

Hi Bill...
Sometimes I just sit on my little back step and stare up at the moon. It's comforting to know that my friends might be doing the same thing, whether in Iowa cornfields, or the mountains of Alaska... We all look at the same moon!!
Thank you for being here, Bill!!

Delightful ...
we lovers of the moon are quite the romantics, aren't we ?
Enjoyed this little beauty.

Hi Marge....
Yes.....romance and the moon are so connected, and have always been. Somehow I think Nature plays a most important role in the life of a poet....must be the inspirations she gives!!  Thank you.....

Hi Jon....
One thing we can always count on, (so far), is that the moon is there. When everything else swings out of the picture, the moon is our one source of stability. Maybe it was put there to give us hope!!
          Thank you, my friend!

You know there is life in space as you glance to the heaven's and hear the music of all the dancing among the stars of late.  What a wonderful and wity vessel to Luna's perch you have given us.  Are cowboys allowed to *sigh*?

Hi jm.....
So good to see you here!!! I think I maybe did moon everybody, but it was done in a very loving way!!!! I think as you do....the night sky has always been laid out as an inspirational showcase for artists of all types.  BTW...I loved your Blue poem, actually I'm hooked on everything you write, and I confess to lifting a few graphics off of them!! (Ok....I'm an art snatcher!!) Actually, I'm an avid collector, so maybe we can share back and forth!!  Sounds good!!
Once again...it's always good to see you here!!
