only a boy
yet a man in worldly wisdom
your experience
reaches far beyond your years

the things you have seen-
the pain you have felt
has left you feeling cold
and afraid

many of the wounds
have healed
but the scars
can still be seen-
a reminder
of what used to be

but what used to be
no longer is
nor does it concern
today
life does not wait
for those who stop
to ponder
what might have been

so when the wounds rip open
and the pain
seems too great to bear
remember
yesterday is gone
we cannot change it
tomorrow is a dream
that may never come true
and should tomorrow come
it will no longer be 'tomorrow',
but 'today'

live today
to it's full potential
trust in the Lord
for courage and strength
and even the scars
may, someday,
disappear from view

very good writing tricks ..i remember this one

remember this one too?:

forced to touch hell
you make your way back--
back to the sanity...
you didnt choose your road
it was chosen for you--
maybe as a chance
to prove to yourself
that you can stand
on your own.
     stand strong on your
                    side,
     fight the good fight...
but always know
if they knock you down,
i'll be right behind you.

theres no such thing as a failure who keeps trying--coasting to the bottom is the only disgrace. -j popper
