The Thorn of Truth

The flowers that you sent me
Say all that need be said
Velvet promises made
Within petals of wine-red

They sat upon my table
Possibilities in a vase
Unopened buds a testimony
Of the truth you would not face

You should have seen it coming
Our relationship was doomed
The evidence sits in glass
In the roses that never bloomed

Corazon and Sunny1, it's so good to be missed!   If you two keep using the word "perfectly", I may get addicted to this...

Sven and Elizabeth, sometimes the fates give us all the signs we need.

Terry and Vicky, thank you for taking the time to read and comment on my little verse.
