-----
When my last bell tolls,
and death has stopped by.
Will it much matter?
I wonder who will cry?

Will anyone remember,
anything special about me?
Will I leave behind,
any sweet memories?

The sad truth is,
that I know I'll never know.
But, I sure would like to,
before my time to go.

Give me my flowers now,
Don't wait until I die.
Don't place them on my grave,
when you come to say goodby.

Let me enjoy them now.
They will say that you care.
If you wait until I'm gone.
I won't know, that they are there.

While I live, I want to know,
that I'm special to someone.
This is my request,
before all is said and done.

I don't want your tears,
after death's knocked on my door.
I would like to be remembered,
Now....not for evermore.

It's the little things that matter.
When it comes from the heart.
Let me have the pleasure of them now,
It's all wasted, once I depart.

If you can't make it so,
you need to let it go!

Kitty~
AMEN !
That's exactly the way I feel ...
and you said it so beautifully.
I'm printing this one for the relatives
of the friends I visit in the nursing home
who would give all they have for the smiling face
of loved ones instead of the constant pots
of guilt-ridden flowers.

Thank you for sharing this.

Vicky..I'm glad you enjoyed my poem.
It really is my sentiments about people letting you know 'NOW' that they care because their efforts after death has no
meaning!

(((hugs)))
