Whilst on holiday this year my sister-in-law gave me this piece she wrote recently, I thought I would share it

The Pebble

Some thoughts from me, a tiny pebble on the seashore
Looking at the horizon, way beyond my scope
At home here with my compares
Sitting still and knowing all life surely comes to me
If only in the footsteps of those busy cheerful children
Or the chasing here and there of that excited sand beetle
And the gentle caress of that transparent blob
That cools me, soothes me and I call a jelly fish
For me in this place, at this moment, I find eternity
I would not wish it differently.

The symphony that serenades me from dawn to dusk
And dusk to dawn
Is never ending in its chorus.
Light, dark warm, cold, colourful,
Twinkling, bubbling, birthing
Decaying, growing, renewing
This is my inheritance.

Some day I may explore further
When that kindly exuberant wave calls me
And carries me to the depths of the unknown
In that great ocean that has always kept me company
Fed me, revitalised me and now is offering even more
A glimpse perhaps of new horizons
And many many more surprises
Where I will always be that tiny pebble
But now, not on the sea shore
But in that place where there is more and more.

Great poem. I liked it. Tell her that she has done a great job.

Ronil (The sweet sound of summer sends serenity through my soul searching for that evermore solitude.)

Dear Marge,

Thank you for your email, as you kindly pointed out, I should not have posted my sister-in-laws poem here. I do hope it did not offend, your point is taken for future reference.

Regards
Peter
