I guess it's time to say...
Well, I'm sure that you know.
It's that one word people say
when one of them has to go.

Saying that one simple word
can fill some people with fear.
And for the truly weak
it can even bring a tear.

It's silly to think...you know,
could actually cause someone pain.
Some can't bring themselves to say it.
They must be insane.

In a letter, the word...
some people refuse to write.
Like the thought will go away
if they keep it out of sight.

All my bags are packed
and it is time for me to go.
I guess that means I have to say
...well...uh...um...you know.

TA,

I really like this one. It is very cute and as Poet D said, "Good way to say it without saying it!" Nice work.

Best wishes!
Poetaster D

ps. In response to your post on my poem "Along the Beach Alone"...I have several more posted on this forum and in the CA forum. I even have one on the adult forum. Unfortunately, most of mine were inspired by saddness, a broken heart, or some other disaster in my life. I will try to post a happy one for you soon

Marge --  Thanks for reading my work.  It took me a long time to think of a title.  Be sure to let me know which post I inspired.   )

Aimster -- Thank you so much for your kind comments.  Good-byes are indeed hard.

Lone Wolf --  Once again, you have honored me with glowing compliments.  Thanks for taking the time to read my meager attempts at literature.    )

PoetasterD -- I'm glad you enjoyed my poem.  I fully expect a poem by you in the near future full of happiness, sunshine, purring kittens and friendship.   )  Consider it a homework assignment.

~TA...how clever of you. hehe...so cool.  I especially love this part here...

In a letter, the word...
some people refuse to write.
Like the thought will go away
if they keep it out of sight.

So well written..thanks for posting. *Peace.

Rosebud -- Thank you for responding to my poem.  I always love to see what others read into my work.  Sometimes I read someone's comments and I think "I wish I'd thought of that while I was writing it".  Sometimes others interpretations are better than what the poem was actually supposed to be about.
