alive and alone

At the end of this tunnel, there could be a light.
First, i must want to open my eyes.
I see through you know; now I realize
there's more to life than choking down your lies.

There's a place out there where i can live my life.
You won't be there, but that's a good thing, right?
You won't control me by causing me strife.
I feel better and empty all at the same time.

You hate me now, as always.
It's plain to see.
How'd you ever look me in the eye?
Why'd you lie to me?
With that perfect smile
I'd have never known...
Now I see that
I must walk alone.

I don't turn to anyone.
I turn inside myself.
I'm my only constant.
The most determined man in Hell.

Sometimes I don't even feel like trying,
but you only get what you give.
I've got to stop the feel of dying
and teach myself to live.

We all got somethin' to atone for.

wow! this was very powerful. i felt
this when i read it. this is laced with
sadness, anger, yet also hope. a hope
that there is something better out there.
i am glad you are able to write this all
out and begin to work through it. the
journey of life is long and hard. i hope
you find happiness. take care.

man, you are just so good at this
you write like I feel.
this is perfect,
there are so many great lines in this...
when we get hurt like this,
it does feel like hate...
and it does feel like were gonna get lost in it.
and you last lines say it all
only we can let go of it.
wisdom from getting burned, (i know)

I think I could need - this in my life
I think I'm just scared - that I know too much
I can't relate and that's a problem
I'm feeling ...
If you're gone - maybe it's time to go home
There's an awful lot of breathing room
But I can hardly move
If you're gone - baby you need to come home
cuz there's a little bit of something me...
In everything in you.

Ethan, very sad , one thing I do know with poetry you are never alone  let the words comfort your heart soul and mind. As days go by so will the pain that seems to caress you so. The one thing I love about poetry is that it always opens one heart.Have you felt the door of your heart easing back open it's a glorious feeling. Nice writing keep it up Rosebud

At the end of this tunnel, there could be a light.
First, i must want to open my eyes.
I see through you know; now I realize
there's more to life than choking down your lies.
.....
Sometimes I don't even feel like trying,
but you only get what you give.
I've got to stop the feel of dying
and teach myself to live.
.........

Ethan, this one is sheer POWER....the strife is so visible, transparent as clearest crystal...

Here, take some hope that I give, with all best wishes for you...

Yeah, continue the poetry, there is lots of solace in this...

Regards and take care,
Sudhir

Hey you, out there in the cold,
Getting lonely, getting old, can you feel me?
Hey you, standing in the aisle,
With itchy feet and fading smile, can you feel me?
Hey you, don't help them to bury the light.
Don't give in without a fight.
Hey you, out there on your own,
Sitting naked by the phone, would you touch me?
Hey you, with your ear against the wall,
Waiting for someone to call out, would you touch me?
Hey you, would you help me to carry the stone?
Open your heart, I'm coming home....

Ethan~
Some powerful feelings here ....

'you only get what you give.
I've got to stop the feel of dying
and teach myself to live.'

and some gems of wisdom.

Well done, sir.
