This poem was posted before in C.A but has been changed since.
===================================================
I have not yet had visions
worth expressing, through these tired eyes;
whiskey bruised and diluted,
staring solitarily outwards.
My hands are bound to skin,
choked in filth and stained in absolution.
I can not be touched
under pain of glass
my pulse fades to a whisper.

I have not yet had a comfort
worth seducing, held without emotion;
broken and passive,
in a splintering stupor.
My body seeks the unconfined exposure
of an harvest field, stripped bare
to stand against the sky
of comatose cumulus where God
is camouflaged in reflections of blindness.

I numb myself in the refuge
of alcohol, life kisses sweetly
from its obscured vantage;
warmth is its loving illusion.
I see in dislocated rivers
of self-dissection the boy
who fears the strains of masculine,
society demands non-emotive strength
not my shrinking soul of fragility.

I have not yet had peace
worth tasting, a shrinking soul
reflecting man as adolescence
tied to the corsets of femininity;
a petal of alkaline beauty.
Yet the body corrodes and breasts ache
from the ravages of childbirth;
a constant taunt of  my existence,
of nature's delicate balance.

I have not yet had serenity
or self worth, at my most delicate
I curl up to suppress pain,
to suffocate life
I strangle my skin.
Under the shadow of tranquillising snow,
I am without desire; drained
to purity requiring only
the soothing comfort of nothing.

Brian,
when i read this in Ca it blew me away
and it does even more so today...
i dont even really know if i have the words to
explain how this poem effects me
it is so intense and written from a place so deep that few people ever find in themselves
or even begin to know how to express if they do.
there are so many striking lines in this dark but reveling piece i could go on for paragraphs
and I could ask that many questions of it as well.
a very deep personal poem Bri,
written with your very unique vision and talent.
Miles to go before you sleep my friend...
you will experience all these things in time.
at the moment i am experiencing awe.

I have not yet had,
a leisurely sleep,
a tranquil melody,
a silent song,
drowning myself in my misery,
replaying old songs loud,
in hope of extensive reality,
to shine through obscure clouds,
All the time undertainty,
reigns supreme,
can I not afford,
a simple pleasant dream?

~You have penned a great poem, brian...
Thanks for posting it out here in this forum...

regards, sudhir

 Hey you, out there in the cold,
Getting lonely, getting old, can you feel me?
Hey you, standing in the aisle,
With itchy feet and fading smile, can you feel me?
Hey you, don't help them to bury the light.
Don't give in without a fight.
Hey you, out there on your own,
Sitting naked by the phone, would you touch me?
Hey you, with your ear against the wall,
Waiting for someone to call out, would you touch me?
Hey you, would you help me to carry the stone?
Open your heart, I'm coming home....

Brian, to see with such intensity must hurt...to look with such honesty and to express it so powerfully--amazing.
