Waiting, Wishing, & Praying
Amy M. Kennedy

She sits and waits...her heart trying to win
Tears fall down her face...as she realizes maybe she was wrong afterall
Not wanting to give up hope...she turns her pain to the sky knowing her love isn't a sin
The angels and heaven always there...even in her most tragic downfall

Waiting, wishing, praying...is all that she can do
She has made her feelings clear...nothing more to say
What more do you do...when you've said the words "I love you"
She feels in her heart...the time is slipping away

The wind blows all around her...as she plays back the memories in her mind
Of a more simpler time...when things were right
When all that mattered...was the two of them
And holding one another all throughout the night

She knows life is hard...full of ups and downs
Wouldn't change a thing...if she had to do it again
So she sits and waits...tears silently fall when no one is around
And she whispers the name of her lover...and it's carried by the wind.

"Don't be dismayed at goodbyes. A farewell is before you can meet again. And meeting again after a moment or a lifetime is certain for those who are friends."

"Fate exists but it can only take you so far,
Because once you're there
It's up to you to make it happen."

When you wouldn't change a thing, you know that you've been true to yourself ... If only things were simpler Amy ... sigh ... lovely, touching sentiments.

Best wishes,
/Kit

good things come to those who wait...*smile*
I know the waiting is the hardest part
but we need time to work thru all
the complications of love as well as the many emotions.
you know you've done your best..to let them
know how you feel, now you have to let fate work a while.
easy for me to say right
beautiful poem amy-girl
very lovely.

Amy,

Heartfelt and touching.  I was hanging on every word, my friend.  Hang in there....it will turn out as it should.  I hope it is how you would like it to be.  Great writing.

She sits and waits and has learned about
the bruises that life has tested upon her,
and she knows deep inside - that each love
and pain that she has had in her life makes
her grow so much stronger.

Lovely, heartfelt poem.  Keep it, don't let
it blow away in the wind --
