Are We Not Expressionists ?

To arise fron the ashes as some mythical bird
Plying the skies of the page with but words
In earnest attempt to regain what's been lost
Lest burn in the silence of thought gone to frost

Stroke of the pen as wing-beats on air
Slow faltering first at resistance met there
Determined once more to again attain flight
Interred behind doors now dissolved as I write

For those thus compelled by imperative
As breath must be expelled , by what's written we live
