This poem is one of my favorites...

The Reason is Unfolded

The path is serpentine
and sometimes furtive
to unsure feet treading.
Sometimes I can see
the breath of
beginning down the slope
across the tarn of newness
nestled.
It is like the tremble and flux
of a smoky song,
a nebulous thing,
unsure of direction.

Look back, down into the vortex
of a mother’s birthing scream,
look down into the eyes of fear
and say how?
How do I keep climbing life’s frail
rock and stony ridge
and the moon so close now
it’s portence is holy and lingering
and I will never see it again like this?

I think and see frailty
in the thinness of the skin
that breaks and bleeds my effort.

Oh, but when I sing
the sky smiles and this
heart of days is listening,
listening still to answers that
beauty defines
and tomorrow is high,
a ridge, so clever in it’s serendipity
that I hear
and finally understand
that the answer is to question
and the reason is unfolded
from simple strive.

WOW, a powerful poem. Life be harsh at times but we must rise to the challenge.
wonderful piece.

I especially loved the last few lines.

that I hear
and finally understand
that the answer is to question
and the reason is unfolded
from simple strive.

I think I could need - this in my life
I think I'm just scared - that I know too much
I can't relate and that's a problem
I'm feeling ...
If you're gone - maybe it's time to go home
There's an awful lot of breathing room
But I can hardly move
If you're gone - baby you need to come home
cuz there's a little bit of something me...
In everything in you.

Exquisite, wonderful, splendorous, a masterpiece,
in case you haven't figured out my friend,
I think this is one heck of a poem.

Well, you sure found 'direction'
with this one.
Enchanting thoughts to mesmerize.

ROCKing along !

Another masterpiece, another gem
One more treasure from your pen

From the southern Cal expressions
To Denises's deepest tones
In between I sat there listening
To two poets on the phone
With perceptions of a hungry hawk
Without the eagle eyes
The two hewned in on every word
Consumed each others lives
Then Pepper got into the scene
And she and martie talked a while
About a lot of things
With laughter they just carried on
In giddy schoolgirl pranks
While I sat calmly in between them
Filling in the blanks
It was lots of fun
Denise, Shannon, and Martie
Love you much
Liz
