My Favorite Poem
[Response to Challenge]

My favorite poem has yet to be sung
from my heartstrings its not been wrung
may be today, perhaps tomorrow
will it come through joy, perhaps sorrow?

My favorite poem is always your piece
for you've done it so much better than me
you give me pause, quiet surcease,
that's when my words join in harmony.

My favorite poem changes every day
like children in my heart do play
golden haired angels, each one of them speak
and I garner a favorite, each and every week.

But my most favorite poem has yet to be penned
the one that rises above all will come when
I read my last poem, and I will close my eyes
and whisper "God, let the poets' songs rise."

well sunshine, I took the lazy way out and just posted a poem. Shame on me.

I look forward to all the poems that flow from your pen, I too can't pick a favourite. Loved this one as much as the others.

BEAUTIFUL SUN!!!
thank you for writing a new one...
not all poets have a fav and not all
can pick...
and as you say so poetically in this..
sometimes our favorite changes from day to day and the mood we are in.
thanks for sharing, love the last verse.

I think I could need - this in my life
I think I'm just scared - that I know too much
I can't relate and that's a problem
I'm feeling ...
If you're gone - maybe it's time to go home
There's an awful lot of breathing room
But I can hardly move
If you're gone - baby you need to come home
cuz there's a little bit of something me...
In everything in you.

Nicely done, Sunshine. We should all strive to create our "favorite" poem and, in never doing so, continue to strive. On the other hand, any poem that we write with a 100% effort to the best of whatever our abilities are should all qualify as favorite poems.

You did great with this subject.......

Ellie, you're quite welcome, and thank YOU for reading...

Balladeer, this is probably one of the most treasured comments I will ever receive... and yes, I will always continue to strive, for I cannot even conceive that I will have ever done a piece that will be "my best..." and of course, you always keep topping yourself...thank you so much...

Sushine--

now this was a clever and interesting
way to answer JM's challenge. A high
five to you m'friend! lol. This was an
excellent piece of poetry...really flowed
together well I think. And you are right...
we all should continue to strive and work
harder...some of our best poetry has probably
yet to be written.
take care,

I know, Sunshine! Isn't it hard to pick just one?

Distinctly different, bright sunshine.

Karilea, this one is ALSO a great one...

Hey you, out there in the cold,
Getting lonely, getting old, can you feel me?
Hey you, standing in the aisle,
With itchy feet and fading smile, can you feel me?
Hey you, don't help them to bury the light.
Don't give in without a fight.
Hey you, out there on your own,
Sitting naked by the phone, would you touch me?
Hey you, with your ear against the wall,
Waiting for someone to call out, would you touch me?
Hey you, would you help me to carry the stone?
Open your heart, I'm coming home....

Sunshine, Great job with this one. All your poems are works of art; your going to get in
trouble soon at Spirituals if we have to come over here to see you.  BAD trouble. mm

Sudhir, thank you for your kind words of praise, now I must leave and post in Spiritual because

Alle'cram said I was going to get in bad trouble if I don't get back soon...by the way, little one, thank you for the comment...
