Hey poets ... a friend gave me a cool request to do to mark my 3000th post...
instead of writing a new one she suggested I pick my most favorite one of all my poems...
and I thought how cool it would be to get to see all of yours as well.
So that is the challenge-- to think back of all your poems and pick just one that is your favorite for whatever the reason...be it sentimental or personal best achievement.
It's not easy to pick, they are like our children...it's hard to choose just one...
I have 144 poems posted here to date...but this is the one I wanted to repost and share again.
And I would also like to take this time to say how much I adore all of you and how grateful I am to this place and all of its poets.
The encouragement, inspiration, and friendships found here are my sanctuary.
Thank you all.

~Winds Of Change~

Poetic winds blow ... now sweetly swept away,
carry me to the place in you ... so that I might stay.
Safe passage to your harbors ... sail across your seas,
breath in all your pleasures ... set my spirit free.

Poetic winds blow ... gentle breezes take my will,
carry me to the place in you ... where time stands still.
Take me so far away ... to discover your beaches of sand,
under your starry skies ... I rise up ... heart in my hand.

Poetic winds blow ... quietly taken into the night,
carry me to the place in you ... warmed by desires light.
Baptize me in your mystical waters ... sun dry me on your shore,
caress me with your winds of change ... allow my heart to soar.

Poetic winds blow ... lift me up ... now Heaven bound,
carry me to the place in you ... where contentment is found.
Fly with me in twilight skies ... painted in hues by the setting sun,
as we fly free towards the rising moon ... two souls become one.

Janet Marie

Beautiful! and the graphics aren't bad either...you've made a place for yourself here! Some poets come and go. Others hang around forever and become part of the core, the heart, of Passions. You are one of those. I enjoy reading you. Congratulations.

Firstly, waking up to read your poem first time in the morning made this morning and the rest of the day beautiful.
Secondly those images are splendid I think I will book a holiday in one of those places. Now most importantly congratulations on your 3000 post.  A great challenge idea and a hard one as well.
Now to the poem,

Safe passage to your harbors ... sail across your seas,
breath in all your pleasures ... set my spirit free.

Poetic winds blow ... quietly taken into the night,
carry me to the place in you ... warmed by desires light.

Baptize me in your mystical waters ... sun dry me on your shore,
caress me with your winds of change ... allow my heart to soar.

Fly with me in twilight skies ... painted in hues by the setting sun,
as we fly free towards the rising moon ... two souls become one.

Poetic winds carry your words on the breeze so effortless
Graceful, beautiful heart's song, a magical poem,
just stole my breath, as always wonderful.

(my comment in poem form, remember I am only little grasshopper, Sensei)

Oh!  I love this line.  What a nice place to go to, too:

"carry me to the place in you ... where contentment is found"

I liked all the pictures that went with this, too.  I can't decide which poem is my favorite, though.  It may take me awhile.

Jan~

Congratulations on 3000! You are one of my favorite poets of all time...I sincerely mean that. Each piece of you work is full of such love and honesty. I can see why this one would be your favorite. The words themselves flow together like wind and tides of the ocean do. I can only speak for myself at this forum...but it is an immense pleasure to read your work and be able to respond to it. Often times you take my thoughts and breath away from you writing. Then there are times when you write exactly how I am feeling but at that time unable to express. Then lol there are times when your writing holds such important values and morals...I want to print them right then and there and hang on my refrigerator. You truly do have a gift from the Heavens and God chose such a lovely soul to give it to. It is apparent to me that everyone at this forum loves you very much and we are extremely proud of you and wish you much love and happiness! Take care and once again congratulations.

P.S. Brian...Book me a vacation to one of these places too k lol God knows I need one!!

I have many favorites and all for different reasons...but let me think on this a spell and see if I can narrow it down to just one

even the poems removed
how can I adjust
to a poem that I must
I just hope I'm at the right place

I know your poem is sweet
else why stop I, to greet
I sang you a song
the tune was all wrong
now the cake I must eat

Besides my wish to have those forty posts   I also wish you'd come and visit the Pub sometime! I've noticed activity there has been in a decline for a few weeks...

I see you're doing quite well for yourself here in the Opens!   You joined on far later than I did, and here you are with over 3000 posts and I've still only got 400-something...lol you must be posting and replying like a madman (relatively speaking, of course).

Again, excellent poem, and congrats on the 3K!!

You pose an interesting challenge... i shall respond, though as you say it will be difficult. =)

This poem is truly magnificent. I remember a time when the poetic winds blew this way for me. i truly envy you for being able to feel this way about someone. i also envy you for being able to wirte the way you do! Your works are nothing short of fantastic.

The one of yours i actually printed out because i LOVE it so much is "Blinded by your Beauty". It's the story of my life, and thanks for telling it so well!

Congrats, and i hope your talented inspirations continue to be shared here.
