Apprehension, misgivings, misunderstandings,
I thought it was over but hope blooms again,
And yet there remains this seed of doubt
I fear that hope may end in more pain

I face my fear as I look in your eyes
Searching for what I often saw there
I see the flame of it partially hidden
I avert my eyes and wipe off a tear

How can you not know you complete me?
Or do you doubt such love can be true?
In my heart, in my hopes, in my dreams,
In my every fantasy exists only you

Why is it that I love you so much?
Why is it so hard to just let go?
I'm not sure what binds us so tightly
But we belong together I know

So again I offer all that I am
I open my heart and trust in you
An undying love is yours for the taking,
Accept it or not, what will you do...

Steve!!! My goodness it's so good to see you again. And to read you! We've missed you around here.

There is hope in your poem, I feel it. Excellent!!

Ah...that delicate balance of trust, and trying again...a very vulnerable state, yet worth every cringing moment of wait - when all falls into place once again.  I wish you all the luck in the world, and maybe just a pinch of fate.    Sooo good to see you again, as PdV said.  Where the heck have you been sir?  You should post a few more poems while you're here, to get us through the times when you're gone!  LOL  (Long spells, they are!!)  Glad to see you back here with hope in your eyes!  ***curtsies***

a wonderful poem, every blue sky has its rain cloud and every rain cloud has a sliver lining.

Darn it! That bloke's back with the six pack and the silver poetic tongue.

I see you haven't lost any of your talent while you've been away, good to see you back.

Thanks for the chance to read and reply.

Craig

Yes, I admit your general rule. That every poet is a fool:
But I myself may serve to show it. That every fool is not a poet.

This was an excellent piece!!! I could relate to every word you wrote here. Being in love with someone who doesn't exactly feel the same way or who can't be with you for whatever reason is the hardest!! You have expressed your feelings quite beautifully.

take care,
