Summer Nights
Amy M Kennedy

The wind blows softly, the trees gently sway
As the sun begins to set at the end of the day
The mockingbird sings, and the colors fill the sky
I look around and see God's glory and deeply sigh

An image of you gently enters and your face I do see
Wondering how you are and do you think of me
Summer nights full of intense heat and mystery
Thinking of you makes me believe in fate and destiny

My heart beats faster as I look up above
And there is no doubt in my mind...I've fallen in love
I hear nothing now but the beating of my own heart
And tears slowly fall when I realize we're apart

Carolina nights are full of fire
What happens when something turns into more than desire?
Love fills my heart as I softly say your name
Knowing I will never again be the same

"Don't be dismayed at goodbyes. A farewell is before you can meet again. And meeting again after a moment or a lifetime is certain for those who are friends."

Amy, this is wonderful.  [Unfortunately, I cannot read your response to my post Willows - for some reason, I cannot see some of the responses...] so I sure hope you get to see this message, and that I like your work a lot!
