Love beyond Perception
~~~~~~~~~
Two  soul  mates  part
"nothing  lasts  forever"
I  doubt  we'll  ever  meet  again
"I  love  you ...
there  will  be  no  other"
this  parting  fills  my  heart  with  pain
~
You  heart  is  drifting
so  I  release  you
a  cheerful  past  can  I  forget
Though  I  may  wander  life  in  sorrow
my  prayers  are  that  you're  happy  yet
~
Perhaps  in  time
on  a  lonely  evening
your  thoughts  will  reminisce  of  me
And  wonder  if  I'm  even  living
that  night  I'll  think  the  same  of  thee
~
Through  this  lonesome  life  I  wander
alone  with  thoughts
of  only  you
Your  memory  blinds  my  sight  forever
with  love  far  greater  than  you  knew
~
When  slowly  all  your  friends  depart  you
those  friends  you  thought
you  needed  so
Bare  in  mind  the  friend  you  departed
still  loves  you  greater  than  you  know
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Sad, but well done.
Good advice here too.

Wow!  22 Years ago Rex?  This was incredibly beautiful ... you had a gift from the very beginning.  This is so warm, touching and sentimental for one who's heart had been broken. What a lovely piece.

Great post to the challenge! Thanks for sharing it with us Rex.

Best wishes,
/Kit

Rex~
What a tender loving heart you have, this has such saddness yet such beauty in it.
Just a most tender poem.

Denise ... thankyou, I think a lot of people here can relate to this
Temptress ... thankyou ... the advice seems to be best written on a wall somewhere
Kit ... my first wife was a poet ... so I had plenty of examples to work from and lots of time to revise it because I never gave it to her ... but it got me interested in writing
Tracie ... thankyou ... I always enjoy hearing from you ... you must have that certain magnetism

When this happens, you go on, but part of you gets stuck in whatever you had and now miss.  I think this is a lovely expression of love, enduring even after the relationship ends.  That's how love should be, but it ain't always that way...too bad!

Hi Rex,

You are a natural poet my friend, and it shows in the wonderful work you share, and one with a great deal of love in the heart.

Excellent poem. I too was looking for the laugh that you usually deliver, but I will settle for this wonderful, thoughtful poem.

Rex, Wonderful love poem. You conveyed the depths of your love to her beautifully. She knows, I'm sure. To have known this kind of love is better, having known. Lovely poem. marcy
