These 3 were written in the early to mid-70's when I was in my teens 16-18
I started writing when I was 11-12,
but all my earlier work was lost --
in the too many moves to count after my parents divorce when I was 11.
Thanks to Kit for the smiles today, I had not read these in years.
here they are...teenage angst at its worst *smile*...
back then my pen name way "jay"(best friend nick-name)"Hey-J"

If you need me, all you have to do is ask --
its yours for the taking.
Our love ...  it's not much ...
but love is for the making,
and hearts ... well ...
hearts are for breaking ...
just look at mine.
--------------------"jay"

Too many people love --
they act like it comes for free.
Tonight I said I loved you,
but you didn't answer me ...
another heart spent.
-----------------------"jay"

~Men Only~

Men only come to women --
when its games they intend to play.

Men only say I love you --
when there's nothing else to say.

Men only say I want you --
when their needs get in the way.

Men only say I'm sorry --
when your price they wont pay.

Men only say good-bye --
when you really need them to stay.

"jay"
--------------------

SORRY guys(about that last one)
I was 18 and bitter...no offense...ya know I love the poets of passions.

These are very honest Janet, we all wrote them back then.... well except me, I have none left. Though I remember a title...
St George and the Dragnet a comedy of the St George and the Dragon and based on a record I had by the same name. I don't know if it was ever funny. Wish I could dig up some old ones.... mostly still romantic if I remember correctly.... same old me or was the young me. lol

Janet Marie~
Well, I can see that you HAVE always been a great poet.  I love this insight into your early work!  I can remember having a very bad case of teenage angst, myself.

Glad you shared these with us, dear~

Yeah!!! Excellent Janet Marie!!!  This is the first poem response to the challenge I've read yet, and I see a few people must have dusted off the old diaries and books.  This is WONDERFUL.  It's so much fun seeing a little glimpse into the past.  I had a lot of fun looking back at soooooo much when we were packing up to move ...

Wonderful poems from "little Janet Marie" ... teengage poetry at it's best! (and by the way, whatever happened to Jay??? Do tell!)

Great challenge response ... any more???

Best wishes,
/Kit

Jeez, I thought it took a long time and a lot of experiences for gals to feel that way about men. I guess you all start a lot earlier than I thought!!

But I like the poems

Almost hurt Tonka's feelings there for a moment BEG.  You were pretty wise at 18, and a good writer.

Janet marie - your words prove something - too often wisdom is falsely associated with age.  Your three works were wonderful.  All those years - and you are still 18 - terrific.

Wow, JM, you were wonderful even then.  When you were writing beautiful things I was writing stupid things...of course girls matured faster then boys (so they say).  But I never was one of those "men" you wrote about...hee, hee.

Never change, JM, your writing is beautiful.

Wow JM - once a writer, always a writer.
I see you are expanding to "prose"
I think it is great.  Your teen poems
are great  -- Love them.   You keep on
writing -
I, too wish I had more of my poems when I was young. Most the ones I have now are stuck in my head, or probably forever gone.
