~ Seven Itch ~
Silent at night she peaks through ivory blinds
Wondering when he'll be coming home tonight
Dawn quickly approaching her sleep now disturbed
Sounds of door opening and tip-toeing are heard
Entering the room he stumbles to the sheets
Quickly she rises and questions him
He carefully exits the bed and walks away
Shaking his head not even a word does he say
The day has come the two must face
Reality of how things have changed
Following him from room to room
Her tears fall from her cheeks unto the floor
Words left unspoken only her heartache can be seen
Suitcase in tow and doorknob in hand
Twist of the wrist and off he went
Searching for something he doesn't even know
The seven year itch is what she's been told.

Thank god my husband and I are past the seven year itch...Phew got through that year without too much trouble but for some not so lucky and seperation is the only way.
You have written this well, I enjoyed the read.

Kit, thank you for reading this lil twist of a verse it's always nice to have you visit me

Marge, I hear you gurl and I would agree .. suitcase should be handed to him.  One of these days I'll put to rhyme a sweet verse like 'Marge' those .. one of a kind's!

Devina, it's a treat to have you also pass thru the screen and take a peak at this lil verse that popped out from me.

    Coco

Very well done!  I think I know that lady and I believed she sprinkled his Fruit of the Looms with hot pepper before he left out the door. Then, when he starts itching, he may even think about her. {smile}(I'm with the rest of the ladies on this one.)
Great story.

Coco,

I am with Marge here.....give him the suitcase and don't give him the satisfaction of seeing your tears.  He'll figure out what he's missing...you...but it will be too late.  You'll have found the kind of love you deserve.  Best wishes to you!!  Good writing and tough subject.

Good writing.  I'm also with the ladies above...this is a sorry excuse (the 7 year itch), like it's inevitable.  I think a better excuse is inconstancy, or perhaps inconstancy and cowardice.

Alle, Lorrain, Wolfe   and Jana, thank you dearly for your supporting comments.
Twas a coincidence when this one popped out from my head.
I jumped to the screen and jotted it down cus I felt strongly that it may be a topic worth a quick read.
Anyways, I must it's been some time now and life is better every day!
Coco
