Some questions will have no answers,
some realities shall not have reasons.
Some things are just a given ...
constant as the ever changing seasons.

Ask of others, no more than you ask of yourself,
have a heart of forgiveness, eyes of understanding.
Speak softly with patience and kindness ...
offer encouragement in place of reprimanding.

Accept that some days will be darker ...
rejoice in the days that the sun does shine.
Find strength in your faith ...
and know in time the truth will define.

Not all our songs will have harmony ...
not all our verses will have rhyme.
Some days will know sorrow ...
some days will be sublime.

Not all our words will be spoken ...
some emotions run to deep.
Make your word be one of honor,
all your promises ... try to keep

There are places inside our souls ...
that have never been touched.
There are places inside our hearts,
that need to be loved this much.
Question not the gifts of ~Fate~ & ~Destiny~
our peace will come in simply accepting ...
some things are just meant to be.

Janet Marie

thank you Lizzie, for the sweet gift of inspiration.

Some things cannot be explained by verses that rhyme,
They are not measured by the commitment of time.
Some emotions run too deep to be described by words,
Forgiveness and understanding-remain the most beautiful words ever heard.

brilliant inspiration piece, Janet...

You really dug into this one!

Regards, sudhir

Hey you, out there in the cold,
Getting lonely, getting old, can you feel me?
Hey you, standing in the aisle,
With itchy feet and fading smile, can you feel me?
Hey you, don't help them to bury the light.
Don't give in without a fight.
Hey you, out there on your own,
Sitting naked by the phone, would you touch me?
Hey you, with your ear against the wall,
Waiting for someone to call out, would you touch me?
Hey you, would you help me to carry the stone?
Open your heart, I'm coming home....

There is a reason for this poem
So easy now to understand
There is a reason for it's beauty
From a lovely poet hand
There is a reason we will cherish
Every word that she imparts
For every word is wrought from love
That well abides within her heart

This is so beautiful, and thank you for reading deep into my poetry.
Love
Liz

J. Marie

You are so good.  Please tell me, where does your inspiration come from?  I need some of it!  You write straight from the heart - and speak straight to mine!  But you already knew that.  This is something I've always believed in - Meant to Be's.  Even though it's sometimes hard, especially when things don't work out the way you want them to.  That's when believing in Meant to Be's is very difficult.  I know you know what I'm talking about.

Another good one from my good friend.

Dear Jan; This glorious poem of acceptance is so lovely that I have few words to thank you for the incredible gift that God has given you and that you use with such beauty. I read Lizs' poem and It was wonderful. The both of you have risen to such heights of Grace, that it is awe inspiring. Love, Ellie

Outstanding work Janet, I think these are words we could all live by.

Ooh, JM, this is perfect.  I should print this out and post it in my room so I can look at it when I'm having a horrible day and remember these things and also have the pleasure of reading this beautiful poem.  I am truly impressed, my friend.

Kit found my favorite lines, too. In fact, much of these stanzas could stand alone as minipoems themselves. Sweet, huh?
