This poem is inspired by shilpi's Union 4 Eternity. A lot of thanks are due to shilpi for lending me inspiration to write these 14 lines... I really don't know where they came from. They occurred while I was reading the poem, while my mind was also busy with another one that I was writing. Hoe to post that soon...please enjoy this one:

Eternal Love - the promise
--------------------------

Fate held a key to this door,
A slit, an opening, the key hole.
This door, opened up a new frontier,
One eye blinked looked through the eye-hole,
Waited patiently for another,
Another eye soon stared, caressed a fluttering soul.

Though the eyes had met, yet nothing was said,
Love's emotions flowed, streams joined forming a river,
Silent expressions, sweet impressions, a raid,
A foray into hearts, joining them, a momentary shiver,
Two hearts held on tight, in love, souls become one,
The birds whispered wonderful songs, devoted to one another,
Songs flourished, music enthralled, paradise regained forever,
That this love is eternal, would last forever, is a promise given....

Hey you, out there in the cold,
Getting lonely, getting old, can you feel me?
Hey you, standing in the aisle,
With itchy feet and fading smile, can you feel me?
Hey you, don't help them to bury the light.
Don't give in without a fight.
Hey you, out there on your own,
Sitting naked by the phone, would you touch me?
Hey you, with your ear against the wall,
Waiting for someone to call out, would you touch me?
Hey you, would you help me to carry the stone?
Open your heart, I'm coming home....

Shilpi,

I am presently connected to the net from Cloud #9. Your lovely words have pushed me way up there.... feeling a bit frivolous, a touch gloated with amassed ego...

Thanks for reading, I am still gloating....

tongue-tied eh?

Thanks again,
Regards, sudhir

Sudhir...
to borrow a word you grace so many of my poems with...
this is BRILLIANT!!
exceptional thoughts and words.
and inspiration born from another poets
words is one of the sweetest gifts of poetry.
take care, jm

Some things cannot be explained by verses that rhyme,
They are not measured by the commitment of time.
Some emotions run too deep to be described by words,
Forgiveness and understanding-remain the most beautiful words ever heard.

Kit,
Thanks for first reading this over and over, and then for posting such a wonderful reply. Thank you.

Sven,
If you say this is excellent, I better believe it. Thanks for the praise showered upon me. It is best if a poet's inspiration come from the works of another, don't you think so? I believe so! Thanks for reading, sven. My day is made...

Janet,
BRILLIANT is it so? Thanks and many more due to shilpi then for provoking me to write this by a wonderful poem...Thank you Janet, and you take care too.

Regards to one and all,
Sudhir

Hallucinations, Karilea, make people live in an imaginary world, seeing things that otherwise doesnot appear to be seen...
Magic is just one of those optical illusions...I am glad, these 14 lines caused that effect... Thanks for reading this..

Liz,
Is it true, Is it true that the eye from the other side of the door were yours, oh! how beautiful it appeared, I could lose myself in the depth of those eyes....
THANK YOU for your kind words, greatest fan,  eh?
WOW one of the very best of compliments I have ever received except my mother says "Sudhir, you were never naughty in your early ages, look at all these babies, they cry a lot, scream a lot, you were so cool, so mature" and yet I regret crying for today many a year later, I recount my child hood and miss doing a few things then...

Regards and thanks once again,
Sudhir

P.S. by the way, I am working on huge poem, which I wish to post before the end of this day... it is appearing to be strange so far...

Sudhir~
most beautiful piece I must say. The ones that come from nowhere are often the best and you have written something very amazing in this.
Special Sudhir, very special.
