Leavetaking

Goodbye is seldom
word enough,
but we say it,
hoping to part
closer in heart
than when we met.
I say farewell
with fondness,
with satisfaction
that we have shared
a love of words,
of sound and syllable
of art and expression...
of faith.

Until another
evening, when time
brings us again within
the tenderness of words,
I bid thee farewell.

Dear LadyClaire

This is very soft and tender, beautifully written, Claire. I hope you aren't saying goodbye to us, though. That would make me sad.

Claire,
it always amazes me how much your words speak to me. . . the way that they always seem to know what I'm thinking. . .

This has all the elements of a parting of friends. . . until we meet again. . .

Just wonderful Claire. . .

A gentle wind touched on my soul,
...soft whisper from afar,
Fairer than most beauteous rose,
...than Venus, evening's star.

Sweet flower of the heavens,
...outshines the welkin's light,
With voice of golden nightingale,
...she sings of sorrow's bite.

Though ne'er we've met, nor ever will,
...now rests within my heart,
Lustre of midsummer's moon,
...time now has come to part.

Hath with her pen, inscribed us all,
...with splendor of the night,
Op'ed her soul, allowed us in,
...her beauteous charms requite.

Farewell dear Muse, of distant lea,
...as steal into the night,
May kiss of dawn upon thee rest,
...and bring you day's delight.

I sincerely hope you realize the way your poetry has touched so many people Claire.  May angels sleep on your pillow as we await your return.

Goodbye, blue sky, good bye.... (I seem to be in a pink floyd mood   of late)

Claire, Hope to see you soon, this is a nice gift that you have woven for all of us.

Regards, sudhir

Hey you, out there in the cold,
Getting lonely, getting old, can you feel me?
Hey you, standing in the aisle,
With itchy feet and fading smile, can you feel me?
Hey you, don't help them to bury the light.
Don't give in without a fight.
Hey you, out there on your own,
Sitting naked by the phone, would you touch me?
Hey you, with your ear against the wall,
Waiting for someone to call out, would you touch me?
Hey you, would you help me to carry the stone?
Open your heart, I'm coming home....
