Standing here, waiting to begin
Looking back at where we've been
You came into my life from out of the blue
And I can't think of a better time
                       than this to tell you

A lot has happened from the start
Since the begining, you've had my heart
From the day we met "we were more than friends"
And my love "I can hardly wait
                       till we meet again"

Walking together with hope in our hands
I've given hope, you've helped me stand
From each other my love we draw strength
There's nothing for you I wouldn't do
                       I'd go to any length

We never knew which way we'd walk
We would just hold hands and talk
"If you don't really know where you want to go
It doesn't matter which road you take"
                       Our hearts will know

The band warms up and begins to play
My love, how I've waited for this day
To be here with you since we took that chance
To do the one thing that we've never done. . .
                       . . . We've never danced. . .

Sven that was wonderful, I loved the way the words flowed as I was reading it and when I got to the last line I found myself smiling.
Thank you for sharing this poem.

The anticipation of sharing a dance can be as lovely as the dance itself...this is a sweet treasure of a poem, my friend...

Sven~
A romantic twirl around the dance floor of your heart is such a treat.
You're certainly no wallflower.
I like it so much when I can hear the music playing through your writing.

This captivated me from the moment I began to read.  I think perhaps you are right....our hearts know, even sometimes before our heads.
This was a beautiful read Sven.

Oh Sven....

no lessons needed...just take her in your arms, feel the music, enjoy the closeness and it will happen!

Wait a minute....that sorta' sounds like something else, huh ?

Well, the feelings are almost the same...you can't go wrong. Just hold each other to the sound of the music!!

Sven to hold her is the most blissful feeling in my life though I fear her response as I've felt. She creates so many sensations in me and makes me stare at her. I guess when we meet now we'll dance.

Oh my I almost missed this one.....Glad I didn't.  This fits so well of my life with one woman I know.....Its so real and true.  Enjoyed it more than I should I think
