State of constant confusion!

0 posted 2000-05-27 07:55 PM

Today was my first daywithout you
And it felt really strange
Can't remember the last time
my life seemed so estranged

I hesitate to say
how much better I feel
Lying here in my thoughts
life seems so surreal

You have had control over me
for almost eight years now
But I know that, given the time
I'll live without you somehow

The time has surely arrived
for me to take back what is mine
Ever looking over my shoulder
at the life I leave behind

To be continued.....

 All my love,
Jeffrey

I lie awake in a world filled with dreams,
but dreams can be so real when you don't know you're asleep

A wonderful poem,

"The time has surely arrived
for me to take back what is mine
Ever looking over my shoulder
at the life I leave behind"

you have great courage and strength, thank you for sharing.

Let the ink flow, O poet... keep it flowing...

sounds great, reads great, nice follow-up... when is the next part coming up?

I like what you wrote here...you had to go and use that word...Estranged...now I've pulled out my Guns N' Roses CD to revisit two of my favorite Gunner songs...Estranged and Don't Cry.   James

Jeff...
keep writing, keep fighting...
stronger each day...
looking forward to the ones that reflect where you are now...
they will show how you've grown,

Thank you my fellow poets,

Writing these poems during those six years was a really big part of my healing.

The next one was written one year after I stopprd drinking so it will be a little more uplifting.
