"For Benna"

I’ve never thought I would meet the perfect girl
But God has brought her into my world
When she smiles at me my soul melts inside
Just for the chance to be near her I would die
I can tell when I look at her, she is such a unique spirit
When she speaks to me I can hardly bear it
Because I’m nothing special, and I can’t compare
But to dream about her, would I even dare

I’ve always heard about a girl that one might meet
The one that can make your heart instantly skip a beat
I always thought that this tale was nonsense
But I now know its true because the time that we’ve spent
Now when I close my eyes I see her enchanting face
The taste of her lips on mine is what I ask for when I pray
I count down the minutes till I can be in her company again
But I know how easily she can turn the heads of all the men
So what can I do to set myself apart
I guess I can show her that I have a very loving heart

I’ve often been told that God has made a special someone for each
But when I look at her she seems so far out of reach
I don’t know how to make an impression on her that will last
I want her to like me for me, so I won’t wear a mask
I know that God has someone for me
Now I think I have found her, but does she share the feeling
Or am I just wishing for the impossible
But this feeling inside is definitely unstoppable
“God to this I pray to you”
“Please let her feel the same way too”

Welcome Rhavin. . .

This poem was excellent!!  A wonderful song showing your poetic soul. . . if it hasn't been shown to the object of your affection. . . make sure that she sees it!!!

Excellent. . .

thanks everyone for the nice comments.  And Sven I am scared to show it to the girl I wrote it about.  I truly don't know if she feels the same way.
