Floating gently on a cloud....

Make Time To Take Time

Time waits for no one here,
As morning comes the night is near.
Running, racing to keep up with life,
Got to keep moving to avoid the strife.

Don't stop to smell the roses,
Don't pause to hear birds sing.
Come on,  do hurry up,
Or you'll be late for everything!
.
I'm reminded how short a life can be,
Is it really worth the haste?
There just has to be more to living,
All this hurry ... such a waste.

Instead of going full-speed ahead,
Slow down to take nature's wonders in.
Watch flowers bloom and insects flutter,
To ignore such glory is a sin.

Take time to watch a sunset,
Notice the beauty all about you.
And when next you feel the need to hurry,
Don't chase time, make it wait for you!

Make time to take time
Linger in the garden of content.
Wishing on rainbow arches
before the time is spent.
-------------------------

Thanks Marge for helping me polish this!!

Love and hugs,
Lizzie

Lil' Lizzie~
What beautiful phrases to greet me
on the dawn.
I will 'make time to take time'
and watch a flower glow.
You simply 'glow' with such wisdom.
Glad to share with you ... you're awesome.
I love you, Lil' Lizzie ... my friend.
BEAUTIFULLY DONE !

Good advice, stopping to watch the sunset is definately worthwhile.

Lizzie ... this was perfectly lovely!  As a little reminder to me on hectic days, my screensaver at the office constantly quotes WH Davies first lines of his poem Leisure "What is life if, full of care, We have no time to stand and stare?"  Your poem was wonderful ... I may start quoting YOU now!

Best wishes,
/Kit

very good message here ... just been told I have to slow down or could have a heart attack ... so I'll stop to smell the roses and feed the birds
