I am sitting in my room
looking out the window pane,
I hear a slight tapping
I hadn't noticed it started to rain.
As I watch the raindrops
form into a daffodil,
then suddenly disappear
streaming down the sill.
I look again
to see if I can find,
something familiar
that will bring back to mind.
The days of springtime
bright sunshine and flowers
the warmer days
when we wiled away the hours.
Then I awoke
the daydream in demise,
it's not raining
but the teardrops falling from my eyes.

Wonderful Poem - Lorraine - what great
imagery ----and what an ending -
achingly sweet.

Loved it!

Wishing and dreaming...are they not the same?

Very nice piece.  I enjoyed the journey.

~Lorraine~

Excellent flow, imagery and twist at the end!  A bittersweet piece to read, I relate all too well.  I only hope that soon that the "teardrops falling from your eyes" become tears of joy and peace.  This is the first poem that I have read by you and I am very impressed

Take care,

Very touching and bittersweet. . . too often the rain becomes our tears. . . hope that yours do indeed become tears of joy. . .

Excellent poem. . .
