FOREVER FALLING

Hole in the sky,
falling through it.
Try to hold on,
just can't do it.
Angels flying,
wings outspread.
No use trying
to save the dead.

Sorrow's shadow
taints the vision.
Weeps, a willow
of derision.
All truth a lie,
I'll not preach it...
Hole in the sky,
I can't reach it!

Starlight passing,
formless, falling.
Echoes emptiness
come calling.
A dream in flight,
a wish come true.
My God - the light
I see in you.

Too fast, too free,
Serenity,
I must release
this prayer from me.
No more wishing,
on martyred skies
All now but black
before these eyes.

Demons groping
by the sadness...
Of a hoping
turned to madness.
By a longing
in the calling,
Of my star
forever falling.

Michael Anderson

For all behind was dark and drear,
And all before was night and fear.
How many hours of night or day
In those suspended pangs I lay,
I could not tell; I scarcely knew
If this were human breath I drew.

Lord Byron

Such sorrow, Michael.  You know I can relate. Beautiful words and flow, just as always.

for some reason, the "feel" of this piece reminded me of the movie "What Dreams May Come."

A sweet but tortuous journey, Michael.

Wishing a sunrise unlike any other upon your darkened skies.

walt, hey - I like that word, "Michaelishly", wish I had thought of it...LOL  Thanks, bud.

krista, *sigh*,  I know - but you know I've seen some real uplifting poetry from you of late - keep it up, who knows, it may be contagious...

Corinne, well that about sums of the story of my life...LOL - sweet but tortuous.     Am looking for that sunrise... TY

Hey now---I like this much---and I do confess a bit of wicked amusement at
"Too fast, too free,
   Serenity..."

okay, okay, OKAY...so maybe it's not all about me...but let me grin when I can, y'know?
