Harsh  Reality

loving and losing in love
feeling your push become a shove
knowing better than to completely fall
sensing as you put up your wall

always aware you will never return the love you recieve
always knowing that you will decieve
never expecting more than what we have
always knowing committment is what you lack

accepting these harsh terms of reality
knowing that I'll become one of your casualties
with all of this I still can't pull back my heart
almost like I knew you were my heartache right from the start

so I'll go on with these facts loving you
because I'm in too deep now to know what else to do
the reality of loving someone more than they do you

I sure did relate to this piece! You read my heart well in this one, while displaying yours! It is such a hard thing to deal with when you realize the one you're in love with isn't as much in love with you. *Hug* hope things get better for you.

take care!

Holly,
this indeed has that painful realization that Amy spoke of just coming from every word. . .

"accepting these harsh terms of reality
knowing that I'll become one of your casualties
with all of this I still can't pull back my heart
almost like I knew you were my heartache right from the start"

When you're in too deep. . . that's when it hurts the most. . .

Excellent poem, my friend. . .

oh holly... Sometimes I feel I know you too well my friend! I know what you mean excatly however you've expressed them utterly completely without question! All of your poetry is wonderful, but girl This one is just awesome! great meter, and rhyme... and not to mention the wonderful way you weave your imagery.

Beautiful Poem, Holly --- oh, how does
one tell one to get out!  That life is
just too short to give and give and give
more than your share.

TO ALL--thanks for the sweet words. Yes, it truly is the harshest of realities to find you love more than the other person. Never a fun thing to find out.

Cyndey--I consider this truly high praise coming from someone that writes like you! Thank you!!

Spitfire--well you certainly read this one correct! My emotions were bleeding..I like how you worded that. Thanks!

Sven--Too deep? OH YES! It not only hard to realize it when it happens..it's also very hard to walk from it, but we live and learn and with any luck...we also grow. I have a friend that says "constantly create-don't conform". I like that.
