My Mystical, Magical, Mysterious Muse

How does this little one of magical mystery come to you, your Muse?
Is it like mine, for I have a she,
possibly if you are reading this, you have a he?
Mine comes to me in any form she should choose,
my Muse,
most often she comes coquettishly,
whimsically,
most always with a cup of tea,
although she’s been known for her knowledge of wine.
That’s when words come forth, like thee or thine.

Often my Muse, she is thoughtfully quiet,
and allows me to listen to her silence,
filled with so many stories and thoughts and places to visit and
places visited
and memories of who, what, where and when
and she speaks so fast I cannot pen
all of her visions, all of her dreams,
sometimes I catch only moonbeams
of thought, or sunny rays of spirit, so bright, so good,
there is no word
known to encompass the generous feelings
she imparts to me,
for me, and I silently quietly cry
“help me, oh Muse, slow down” for she rushes on so.
Where is it she has to go?

Often my Muse is a teacher,
sitting pensively as I dip quill nib to ink,
she pauses me to think,
then in a twinkling
she has flashed away to hide,
while I preside
over paper sheets of linen, smooth,
writing in a groove
of thought compressed with her whispers,
hoping to do her magically woven silence wonders to delight others,
for that is what she and I only want to do, please others…

And sometimes we fail, she and I, for we are always in a hurry,
and if I were to give her a name for her scurrying
about it still would not give the impact of her buzzing around,
for she is even faster than that
and I try oh so very hard to keep up, but I cannot,
and becoming dull with effort, do sleep,
and I then, in my nocturnal slumberings,
see Morpheus overtake me because Muse is at his shoulder,
nudging him along to make me dream-think
that I should wake up and write, write!
and in my dream I know
there is linen paper and quill pen and inkwell full of blackness
to capture all dream-thought,
but I cannot,
and I hear Muse laughing her oh so pleasant laugh
alongside Morpheus, his deep voice, laughing, warm,
playing with me,
my two comrades.

Morpheus continues to whisper in my ear upon awakening,
and Muse continues and is pushing
quill pen to fingers, going so far as to dip
wing into ink
to brush upon the golden nib
so that I don’t lose any of the words whispered,
but sometimes, she is not herself,
with ink drying upon her wings
as she flings
herself in my direction,
and the irritation of her exasperation
leaves me in lousy mood…
and some say it is just getting up on the wrong side of the bed…
oh if they could only hear in their head
the words, the words,
and Muse shrugs her shoulders
and winks at me,
for there will be another day
when she will come and play
with me again, and we
will spend time together,
her and I,
with tea,
and she,
and me.

Really enjoyed that one,

How does this little one of magical mystery come to you, your Muse?

I don't my muse is a person, I think my inspiration comes from documenting what lies in the shadows, whether good or bad. You muse sounds like a good companion, and a produce one that has allowed you write so beautifully. Maybe I should invest in a muse, know anyone who has a spare one for sale?

"Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too? "
Douglas Adams.

Small Black Flowers That Grow In The Sky

"You have your very own number
They dress your cage in its nature
Once you roared now you just grunt lame
Pace around pathetic pound games

Wanna get out won't miss you sensaround
To carry your own dead to swing your tyre tricks
Wanna get out here you're bred dead quick
For the outside,
The small black flowers that grow in the sky

They drag sticks along your walls
Harvest your ovaries dead mothers crawl
Here comes warden, Christ, temple, elder
Environment not yours you see through it all

Wanna get out won't miss you sensaround
To carry your own dead to swing your tyre tricks
Wanna get out here you're bred dead quick
For the outside,
The small black flowers that grow in the sky

Here chewing your tail is joy"

Ah, Brian, thank you for coming in...and as far as being able to purchase a muse, why, if every one could, then every one would be a poet...but luckily, they are priceless... only you will know when one comes to visit, for they are capricious little creatures and if one will own you, then you will own the world.

Thank you.

Sunshine~

You just KNEW I'd like this one !

My merry little muses
brings the words I use
ever in effuse
sometimes in amuse
I don't know why
I have so many
when some folks
haven't any
I sometimes loan them out
to those who have a doubt
that they even exist
Even though they're sorely missed
I'm glad to share the muses
that another friend uses
I've one out in South Africa
One in South LA
One that flits the merriment
with a friend just South of the bay
One in South Florida
with another friend
If anyone doubts their existance
you'd need only read the pen
Got a call from South Philly
to send a little dilly
She just might get this silly
little musing Millie

Uh-Oh .. gotta go
Muse's circling for the ink
Just the quicker-picker-upper
that causes you to think !

Stars above, it dawns on my
my lease/loan Muses all went SOUTH ...
Well, butter me up
and shut my mouth ! ! !

Thank you for this adorable piece
of inspiration ! ! !  Such fun !
Love ya'

A-Musing (to splits) and B-Musing (to the mind)...

Dive in dive out,
from the ink-pot,
Dear little muse,
To each and all amuse...

Nice work as always, Karilea...

Regards, sudhir

 Life is like a painting,
That in an art gallery is left hanging,
Though many come just to look at it,
A very few actually come to enjoy it.
