Dancing with the Moon This day is a heat lined river flowing across these bare feet like summer in pools and swimming holes where skinny dipping is a pure frolic and splashing laughs hard and sweet this day like velvet slippers laid in petals of glorious display that quilts the land and tonight if the moon is round I’ll dance as raccoons in back yard pond hyacinth play volley across the yard and turn this warm magic into a grass dance floor where I pirouette and point this dainty toe under sunflower’s blossoming smile because the moon is a partner voluptuous in my interpretation and I will dance with this light in the silken slither of my lost youth and be beautiful.
