State of constant confusion!

What Is A Teacher?

A path to help
avoid a fall.
An ear to listen
when others call.

A voice, with which
to talk and sing.
A hinge on which
the future swings.

A shield for stopping
sorrow's darts.
A hand to touch
a lonely heart.

An arm to lift
hearts from defeat.
A light to awaken
those who sleep.

A teacher is
a special friend.
To be remembered
until life's end.

I lie awake in a world filled with dreams,
but dreams can be so real when you don't know you're asleep

Jeffrey~
Thank you for these thoughts -
and for giving me an opportunity to honor some of the teachers in my life.

One of my favorite subjects is teachers !
When I recall the many that have impacted
my life, I have nothing but praise.

We all teach ... some love to teach ... others teach to love.  I honor these
teachers in my life -

Ms. Lutie Talton
Mr. Joseph Pearce
Ms. Jodi Campbell
Mr. Tom Beachum
Mr. Joseph Beachum
Mr. Don Granger
Ms. Betty Foard
Mr. Ed Talton
Mr. Walter Purtz
Ms. Lois Chapin

*To each of them - You went far beyond the call of your profession.  I thank you.

Jeffrey,
It is so refreshing to see teachers finally get the respect and appreciation they deserve.  So many times today they seem to be portrayed in a bad way.  Truth is, they have the toughest job in the world, especially in today's society.  Those that go above and beyond the call of duty deserve so much more than they are given.  You have expressed that respect and appreciation so well.  Thanks!
Lori

Thanks to the three of you, I wrote this as a tribute to my son's kindergarten teachers

Mrs. Jada Hardin
Mrs. Judy White

I can scarcely believe the changes that he has gone through these past 8 months. He went from this shy little runt of a kid to being THE ONE to sing a solo at the kindergarten graduation party.
These two teachers were a very big part of that change. And for that I will always be grateful, and they will always be remembered.

Lori, You are so very right. Today's teachers are underpayed and underappreciated.

This was just my attempt to give all teachers the credit they so rightly deserve

This is very precious indeed.  I remember my fourth grade teacher--Sister Mary Chanel.  All the other kids feared her, but I didn't.  I thought she was one cool nun.
Thanks Jeffrey!

Marie, I think we all have teachers that we will never forget.
For me it would be my dear late Grandmother

Mrs. Virgie Mae Carter

She wasn't a school teacher, but she taught how to love life

Jeff, this is a wonderful poem and dedicated
to all those teach be it they are certified
teachers or just anyone that takes the time
to share their knowledge in a patient and
understanding way.

I have had some awful teachers  - have no
idea why they chose it for their professions
or why they were allowed to continue to
teach.
And others, that DESERVED a raise and more
for their talent to teach ---

warmly,
netswan
