The beauty of a rose

Sweet goddess of the petalled realm
With velvet folds of crimson red
Awakens with the morning sun
And reaches out from flower bed
Why so enchanting no one knows
That is the beauty of a rose

Sweet cooing of the mourning dove
At dawn she opens up my eyes
She croons a melody so soft
That sounds of lovers lullabies
The music drifts from eves above
That is the cooing of a dove

Sweet teardrops sit on rose and leaf
The crystal balls of morning mist
Til sun embraces with its warmth
And melts them with a loving kiss
As fresh and pure as words from you
That is the early morning dew

Awake me at the brink of dawn
Like soft enchantment of a rose
And croon a lover’s lulliby
As dove sings songs that no one knows
And melt the morning’s crystal mist
With warm embrace and loving kiss

It gets no better than this, Liz. What a flow-er you are. This poem is as smooth as silk and flows like honey....none of which surprises me since you wrote it

Elizabeth, my friend~

I know you
you won't agree.
But don't you dare
argue with me ...

I think you've written
a self poet-rait!

Love you bunches.

Liz, I must agree with our Miss Marge...this poem is a direct reflection of your lovely, gifted self. The breath of beauty at its most exquisite...
