Is He Going to Kiss Her

They conversed with steady flow
Their faces were vibrant and aglow
He soon walked her to her door

His hands looked strong
His lips appeared firm and full
She knew the golden rules

Girls, do not make passes
Girls, do not act like they want kisses
Girls, must always say no

His eyes looked into hers
and her heart began beating
Is he going to kiss her?

She watched as he strolled to his car
She sighed and waved good-bye
Her heart was in her eyes

He ran back with determination
and devoured her sweet lips
without further hesitation

Trully wounderous poetry, that explains perfectly one of the most difficult situations that you are ever likely to find yourself in - when both people know what they want and also know what each other wants and yet don't want to make the first move . 'sniff' . I am glad it had a happy ending though . Touched my heart .

There is some confusing information being passed here.... you know. While in my teens and twenties, it was always we don't kiss on the first date....But all you ladies would surely have been very disappointed if it did not happen here in this poem. So what gives?
No wonder men have problem understanding women. The rules are confusing and subject to change without notice. Did you ever wonder why insane asylum's are filled mostly with men.... casualties of a first date probably...
Great poem, glad he ran back.

Thanks CS Love Bug and Parker.
Oh, but Parker, lots of first dates,
I sure didn't want a kiss -- this
was a first date where conversation flowed
like red wine and the two both had strong feelings of attraction to each other.

It is written in her eyes, in the way she
lingered at the door and watched him leave.
That deserved a first date kiss. --)

But, do keep being a gentleman - Parker -
in that way you will never get slapped.
But, you might miss a few tasty kisses --)

this is lovely. I always thought, however, that sometimes, just sometimes the kiss isn't necessary.....nice, but I remember it almost being "in the way" at the end....expected...sometimes it's nice to have the second date....
and the third...and let it, just let it happen., but I loved the poem
(what's dating anyway??)

thanks insect and Irish Rose
LOL Rose, dating is a time to meet
or hope to meet someone that you can
share the future with.  A kiss is never
necessary on any date, not even an obligation.

But sometimes he/she is the one - and you
just know it right away.
