The Field of Broken Dreams

I sit alone and think
In the field of broken dreams
Sorting through broken promises
Ripped at the seams

I sit and I wonder
About the trials of life
We waste so much time
Feeling hurtful pain and strife

I try to brush away the tears
From my heavy heart
It's so hard to keep going
When you don't know where to start

I run around in circles
Do I stop or do I begin
In the field of broken dreams
It's a race you never win

People come and people go
But I stay here just the same
Those people will not save me
For it's me they have to blame

Once again I'm all alone
Sitting in the rain
In the field of broken dreams
Lost with all my pain

Broken dreams may mend
A reach from the hand of a friend
You sew the cost
Tears we're lost

The tear becomes a seam
Patched from a broken dream
The dream weaver hems your fashion
Reopening the door for passion

It's strange to say that I enjoyed reading such a sad poem, but I did.  Thanks for sharing it.

Very Good -- enjoyed this, even in
all its tragedy.

CS* This piece has sadness within it but also realizations that living in pain only brings more pain...you have such a gift.  It's an honor to read your work!

SweetThing~
Your meadow of sadness is only
a temporary resting place.

*Insect's reply is the PERFECT cure -

'Broken dreams may mend
A reach from the hand of a friend
You sew the cost
Tears we're lost

The tear becomes a seam
Patched from a broken dream
The dream weaver hems your fashion
Reopening the door for passion'

Brilliant response to a friend in need.
