Pocket Change ~~~ The Donut shop two hours till dawn he rifles through the trash He offers not a second glance cares less that I go past ~ A coffee bought then found a spot to sit and reminisce He wanders in with hapless grin as thunder and lightning flash ~ Can I help you Sir ? as time stood silent a lengthy moment still His answer came from my reply a nod ... I'd catch the bill ~ He sat and savoured every sip the rain beat at the door I ordered one to go and left enough to pay for four ~~~ |
