With Gentle Hands
~*Marge Tindal*~

My friend, Brian
says he can see just fine.
Quite an accomplishment
for a man who is blind.

He traces the lines on my face
with the eyes of his fingertips
He especially likes it when a smile
plays around my lips.

So softly he sees my laughter,
etched in dimpled cheek.
He says he sees the strength in my heart
and knows I'm not so weak.

He likes to stroke my hair
and says that it feels so real.
I laugh and tell him it comes in a bottle
and the label says L'Oreal !

The part that really gets to me
is when he says he knows
that I am surely an angel ...
for he can feel where my wings grow.

I think he is the angel
with sight beyond compare.
Brian, my friend of long-standing love,
your knowing eyes are open wide
with such tender-loving care.

Marge, this is wonderful. . .

Would that we could all "see" as Brian does. . . without sight. . .but with true sight. . . the sight of the soul. . .

Excellent poem, my friend. . .

Marge....
Wonderful....words fall short.......
Such treasures we have in our friends.....who know us and love us without restraints or restrictions.
many blessings you have without my wishing them to you......it is a pleasure and a gift knowing you!

 Words are my medicine.

This is very tender, and very beautiful.  Tell your friend Brian for me, if you will, that his love and care is a rare commodity.  A wonderful and gentle thing.  Thank you for sharing this one.

Marge~
Bless you and Brian, this was a beautiful read. The blind do see, they see alot more than you and I.
This brought back the wonderful memories of my grandmothers two sisters who were blind and they would trace the outline of our faces and touch our hair and when i was little I said to one one day why do you do that and she answered so I can see you and even at a young age I understood what she meant.
Thanks Marge

This is a beautiful tribute, Marge.  Brian is fortunate indeed to be able to see you in a manner similar to how you see him - through the eyes of a loving heart.

What a wonderful world it would be if we all could do the same. *S*

This is wonderful, Marge!! Just like Brian is! He can see so much more than people who DO have eyes, that's for sure! Actually, some people who do have eyes can't see past the end of their nose. Brian doesn't have that problem, he can see everything with his soul. Thanks for sharing this lovely poem!

Love and hugs,
Lizzie

I don't know who is luckier...Brian and his hands, or you, the recipient of his gifts...

regardless, your words are surely a boon to his soul...

It is so true that sight is not the sole responsibility of the eyes alone, and Brain surely knows this well.  Your poem is an inspiration to look deeper, and beyond what the eyes can do.  As surely as your words have touched my soul, I will try to see more than my eyes will allow.  Thank you for the wonderful read.

Marge...isn't it simply amazing that those who lack vision are blessed with far keener sigt than we who see 20/20? I absolutely love this poem for what it says in the words and even more, all the things it says between the lines

Brian is right about you being an angel.  Our vision of you is the emotion we feel when we read your wonderful creative poetry on our computer screens and the sweet responses you always post.
I think you both are very fortunate people!
