Straight To God's Ear
~*Marge Tindal*~

Teach me, Lord, to be humble.
Teach me not to boast
about fancy new possessions
that cost the most.

Show me at my best,
the way you want me to be.
Teach me, Lord,
humility.

When I kneel to pray,
in fancy frocks or faded jeans,
let me know, dear Jesus,
it's my soul you've seen.

Bring me to my knees, Lord,
if others I should pain.
For I have felt the pangs of hurt
time and time again.

Let me not forget
that others may have done me wrong.
But show me how to forgive them
and with my life go on.

I cannot change someone else, Lord.
I can only make a change in me.
Any hurt that someone may have caused,
now resides with thee.

Show me again, my Master,
what you would have me know.
Let me find forgiveness
by simply letting go.

I leave it in your hands
to judge me on that day,
by the truth you know is in my heart,
by the life I live today.

I could hide it from others,
but I can't hide it from you.
You know the words I speak
forever will ring true.

Thank you, my Lord,
for the greatest gift I bear.
To simply say,"I forgive you
and place you in my prayers."

Remind me, Lord, to be thankful
for friends of my making.
Knowing each time that I love a friend,
it's a chance my heart is taking.

Giving of myself,
asking nothing in return,
help me count my blessings
with the friendships I've earned.

Marge, this is a beautiful prayer, one I'm sure He will answer lovingly. I enjoyed it a lot.

Honey, I am so very pleased that you enjoyed this.

CSwtThng~ and JWesley~

It just really dawned on me ...
the very thought that someone is printing out my poetry to share with someone else is about the greatest compliment I could receive.

Thank you both so very much
for letting me know.
What a nice feeling to know that
this poem will see be seen
by another's heart.

I love this one, Marge! What a beautiful prayer. I want to print it out and learn it so that I can say it to God every night. It says it all so wonderfully. Thanks for sharing this one, O Great Poetess!

I loved the whole poem Marge, but found this verse to have the most impact for me ...

"I leave it in your hands
to judge me on that day,
by the truth you know is in my heart,
by the life I live today."

Beautifully penned Marge ... I loved this!

Best wishes,
/Kit

*Smiling* at 'bible thumper'.
I just try to take the time to make sure He knows I'm trying ... and to ask for His guidance.  Thank you, my friend.

David~
My friend, you are just the best !
Thank you for your sincerity.

Lil' Lizzie~
I'm pleased to know that you are touched
by what I've written.
You just know that I love you !
Get that little Camilla to musing with you.

Kit~
Thank you ... I'm glad that you liked that verse ... I do too.

~Marge~

What a beautiful and sincere prayer! I, too, am printing this gem out!  Thanks for posting this poem, right now I really needed to read something like this.   Well, I know that one thing is for sure, we here at passions don't need to pray for an angel to watch over us because we already have you here.  You have a kind heart, a gentle spirit and girl you are an awesome poet

Take care,

Beautiful heartfelt prayer/poem, Marge. Forgiveness is sooooo very important, isn't it? The lack of giving it can poison the sweetness in our souls. I guess the best way to arrive at it is to realize that everything that touches our lives, no matter how painful or spitefully intended by others, must pass through Him first before it ever arrives at our doorstep. They may intend evil against us, but He intends it for our good. I must meditate more on this glorious truth. Thanks so much for the reminder!

Denise

Melissa~
Oh, Melissa~ - you make me feel so special with your friendship.  While I'm far from being an 'angel' ... please know that I do care.  Thank you, honey.

Denise~
I've never found anything I couldn't forgive, because I simply give it to Him.
I feel I have more love to give and to receive and so I let go of the hurt.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

Corinne~
Thank you for seeing the simple truths in this piece.

Nate~
Thank you, hon.
I'm sincere and that's what carries me on.

TerryW~
Love, you may carry the thoughts for as long as you need them ... my humble gift to you.
Love you.

EPoet~
Just knowing that you will share it with others is a blessing to me.
Thank you.
