~A Gift of Fate~

Between us there is constant ... we need not say good-bye,
we need not ask the reasons, this love long since quieted all the whys.
We need no long last looks, no parting kisses in the night,
for we are always as one ... even as you return to the light.

Between us, our hearts sang all the words, no emotion was left unspoken,
we shared love unconditionally ... no promises were ever broken.
On this journey all roads led back to one another ... the gift of destiny,
now your path leads you farther on ...
I cannot follow ... this too was meant to be.

Between us there is the peace in knowing we sweetly danced with fate,
we wished upon celestial stars and heard angels sing of Heaven's gate.
We held each other desperately ...
while loving enough to accept having to let go,
now the wind and tides carry you away from me ...
this is not where you belong, I know.

Between us there is magic, and it makes a joyous sound,
'tis the song of angels sighing, 'tis my prayers rising up, heaven bound
Still in spirit we are one ... this love to ever last ...
The gifts of fate to believe ... we are the future, the present, the past.

Janet Marie

*for ~DeVante'~ ... as promised
with love, always*

J. Marie,

As if this poem isn't touching enough, knowing the inspiration behind it makes it even more special.

You were truly blessed to have him.

How comforting it is that this is true and he will always be there.

J.M.* My sweet S.S.!! This is so beautiful with an air of sadness....as fate can also be. Your talent to totally capture my attention and my heart continue to amaze and delight me, just when I think that our common thread has been a long winded fluke you look into my soul and remind me once again of the overpowering feeling of knowing.  Thank you for sharing this my sweet S.S. **AW hugs**

thank you SO much my poetic sweet friends...
here I was struggling to find my muse and all I had to do is close my eyes, hold a memory and keep a promise.
I am so touched by the replies to this one...

JanetMarie~
I enjoyed your heart in this piece.

'Between us there is magic,
and it makes a joyous sound,
'tis the song of angels sighing,
'tis my prayers rising up, heaven bound
Still in spirit we are one ...
this love to ever last'

Very pretty thoughts are these.

"Still in spirit we are one"
beautiful sentiments of Love, and oh, that gift of destiny.
JM, this is really nice, and sad, and written with that talented pen of yours that gets its inspiration straight from the heart.
So, on a journey to the top we go with this one.
JM, thanks for bumping my Mothers' Day poem up on Sunday.  Your so sweeeeeeeet !!!!!!

Dear Janet Marie; I just found this treasure of incredible sadness and beauty. This is so romantic and heartbreaking. I don't know the whole story and I wish this had turned out happier for you. It sounds like you found acceptance. The poem is exquisite as you are so dear. Love, Ellie (thanks for your sweet reply )

Lovely, heart felt, and warm.
A very warm melancholy, a realistic outlook, a loving tribute to a friendship, a wonderful verse, a memorable time in your life, a rare glimpse into your spirit.
A special poem

Simply awe inspiringly beautiful, Janet.

I am lost for words here, yet I try to contribute to your tribute...

Us,
We're destined to be one,
Decided by fate, what was
in body count two but soul one...

Reeds blowing in the breeze,
Music that they make is our magic,
The stars of the night, they freeze,
Angels sigh, fairies wink, is all so ecstatic...

Regards,

Awesome poem Jan!  Honored to have the chance to read it before it's been published.

I like this. a lot. it's saying goodbye, letting go, and remembering; but not doing it alone. you start to take different paths, but it's like you've got walkie talkies. Diff relationship but same feelings. i've never experienced such a good ending, but it sounds good. (and hard too. but i guess all endings are...) Excellently done. that is, if excellently is even a word... oh well. i liked it!
