The reckoning - Caught at the crossroads
----------------------------------------------------

Little child,
Often wild,
pretty face,
has yet to race.

Old man ,
Aged and wise,
Risen, stood tall,
Already has won his case.

In between,
I stand still,
on a fork,
deciding the way to go.

Deep within, I know,
There is still a long way to go,
The path I choose today,
Will leave me no choice but to stay.

Can't go back a day,
For yesterday has long gone,
Can't wait for a day,
Since, time waits for none

One way to hell,
The other to glory,
If I chose well,
They will write my story.

Confused, head spinning,
Ideas often left hanging,
Future to me does beckon,
Which way I go, I try to reckon.

 Life is like a painting,
That in an art gallery is left hanging,
Though many come just to look at it,
A very few actually come to enjoy it.

The choices we make will change our lives forever.  Within each of us is the power to make our lives what they capable of becoming.
Charge into the future with a passion for reaching your goals and anything you choose will bring you joy.
~~nice poem you have written~~

Wow ...
I am speachless, what a wounderful poem . I to have a lot of difficult desisions to make at the moment that could affect the rest of my life . If life is like an art gallery then you have to be a critic to truly enjoy it . So just wander around the exibits and voice your own view . (That's my moto in a nutshell).
Keep the great poetry coming .

Danny, Tom,

Thanks for reading this and posting your lovely words. You are being very appreciative. Ho often in the moment of decision do we falter, trembling, thinking if the choice we make is the right one or not!!

Thanks once again.

Sudhir

Lovely thoughtful poem, Sudhir
amazing how one decision can change
your destiny -- Or is the decision
you make your destiny?   --)

You write such truth. I like the verse above. The poem is wonderful!

So much of our futures are based on the difficult decisions and choices we make "today" ... thank you for reminding me of this in such a beautiful verse Sudhir ...

I believe even if we make some wrong choices along the way, ultimately, they are all redeemable if we learn a lesson from them! So don't stress too much about taking a wrong turn now and then!

"standing at the crossroads,
not knowing where to turn,
God has something here for me,
a lesson to be learned.

standing at the crossroads,
to the left or to the right?
I'll either lose my way again
or I'll rest with God tonight....
I want to rest with God tonight."

Chorus from a song I wrote years ago...I understand this message well..good poem.

Denise,
When I think back about what you say here, I tend to agree. All the same, I feel that at the crossroads that we come across frequently , we should take a moment to think a bit, to ponder and make a decision. Whatever one chooses, right or wrong, there should never be a day when we may rue our decision and think, 'if only I could have done that then...' because, going back in time to that point to correct the mistake is not nature's way of correcting things. A lesson learnt is also a wrong partially undone and redeemed... Thanks for reading Denise.

Parker,
Thanks for reading. I am glad that you liked the piece.

Beki,
That is an excellent response verse you put here. Thank you very much.

Corinne,
That is one huge boost in my confidence. I fervently hope that you are correct. Thank you with all my heart.

Warm regards to all of you,
Sudhir
