state of confusion

Just

Isolation is easy,
just being is all,
a brief respite.

Here time slows,
the magpie’s song
carried on the breeze.

There is danger
in staying away
too long.

But.

It can’t last, it never does.
Life sucks us back into the eddy
with both excitement and dread,
we go around and around
again.

Another chance to get it right.

....If life gives us another chance, then there's hope for me yet.     I loved this....simple, yet heavy with meaning and truth.  Nice work.

Good thoughts here. Sometimes I wonder does life get tired of giving us second chances.

This is thought provoking, Corrine.
Problem is when I leave for a little
reprieve -darn it, I have to take myself with me ---)

Well written, as usual.

Thanks,

Corinne, WB.....

Life sucks us back into the eddy
with both excitement and dread,

Well my next thought would be, so be it,
into the eddy then..... take me life.

Wonderful as usual, my friend.

hehe  Thanks for this lovely way of looking at it!  My way isn't so "lovely"...I've often compared that "going around and around again" to that of a toilet bowel of life.  LOL  You make it seem much more beautiful here!  Thank you for the far more positive outlook!     Superbly simple!

Thanks, Christina, I often wonder about this subject.

Temptress, I'm sure life has learned patience, after all, we are only human.

Why, Netswan, that's the point!  (Smiling)

Park, we should all have your attitude, thank you, my friend.

PoetFemmeFatale, thank you!  Well, we are saying the same things, only from different perspectives.  My mother always looked at life through rose colored glasses, I swore I'd never do that.  Hmmm, seems it has happened anyway.

Corinne - what a wonderful poem!  You could subtitle it "Life 101," and it would certainly fit!  What I have found amazing in my own life, is that those brief moments of respite can carry me through many gut-wrenching and heart-breaking times.  Thank you so much for sharing this gem!

 It's amazing
How you make your face just like a wall
How you take your heart and turn it off
How I turn my head and you lose it all ...
And it's unnerving
How one move just puts me by myself
There you go just trusting someone else
Now I know I put us both through hell ...
I'm not sayin
That there was nothing wrong
I just didn't think you'd ever get tired of me
And I'm not sayin
We ever had the right to hold on
I just didn't wanna let you get away from me.

Chances - I like the hope here.

Lori

I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean. Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens. Promise me you'll give faith a fighting chance. And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance - I hope you dance.
