~* Love Sails Free *~

He prepared his boat to sail
with eager confidence & skill -
Pushed off toward the raging sea
his passions to fulfill...

She stayed behind on shore
watching as he left for sea -
Happy tears ran down her face
she loved to see him free...

A glowing smile on his face
he waved till she was gone -
The shore no longer in his sight
but he could hear her song...

She sang adventure sweet
wishing him a journey great -
And with her love to guide him fast
he sailed on out toward Fate...

Left standing there on shore
with his boat no more in sight -
She headed back, to ready now
for she too, sailed tonight...

Her destination different though
with confidence & skill -
She pushed off toward the raging sea
her passions to fulfill...

A glowing smile on her face
she waved till she was gone -
The shore no longer in her sight
and thus, she sang her song...

Their boats both on the sea of Fate
his thither, hers was yon -
Their ships may never pass this night
nor even in the dawn...

But every once in sailor's while
he swears he sees her bow -
His course though different from her own
Will Fate cross them somehow...?

Hey pretty lady!!! =)

Beuatiful poem and story here.  All though it may be a fantasy, I hope the paths cross. =)  It would make for a good ending (or maybe begining?) to the story.

Still "love what you do for me". =)  Keep up the new style and I'm forever yours.

So does that mean you're hooked on my poetry? It's kind of a shorter story poem.  I'm learning to "keep 'em short"....LOL  (not really, just got lucky on this one!)  This one is actually not fantasy - it's very real, and I'm very glad to be setting sail, as is he.  Fate deals some funny cards sometimes...makes you wonder what lies beyond the setting sun.  Have you ever been on a sailboat during a breathtaking sunset?  I was in Cancun...if there was ever a moment in time I wished to freeze, it was then.  The beauty in God's creation takes my breath away sometimes...

I always give you a hard time because of your "rambling"...and here I am, doing it too!  Sorry!
Thanks for all your sweet replies.  You're such a faithful "regular".  LOL

Janet!  Wazzzup??  Davie is going out tonight.  Said something about that he's stripping tonight in some club...?  LOL  We had tea, and he filled me in on his agenda for the evening!  Very funny!  I told him to BE CAREFUL.....I know how the ladies get.  I used to sit front and center at those things!  ROFLMAO  Glad you liked my poem, btw.  I love romance and the sea...I DON'T necessarily like sailors, except this one.  LOL  I've known men in uniform, and as long as you don't have to put up with their attitudes, they're sexy as can be.  LOL  You take care until I get a chance to yap at you.

I should add, this boy's been to boot camp, and he has no attitude.     Nope, no B.S. from him.

What a nice surprise ending this has!  I was fully expecting him to die at sea, her to wait for him (how I usually write stuff, I guess), and was happy to see she was on a journey as well.

Nice one!

I too was expecting a sad ending. Guess that goes to
show you that one should never assume.
What a wonderful poem with a great ending!
Much Enjoyed pFF!

A sad ending?  No Way!!!  Not this time right Gen?

I really am loving this new style of yours Gen, makes me kind of jealous, it's almost as good as my own!!!  LOL

This gives new meaning to the phrase, "Two ships passing. . ."

Great poem Gen, keep it up. . . it's nicer to be happy isn't it?

(and on a side note, of course there's no BS from him. . . he has to deal with all of yours!!!  LOL
