Writer’s Block – “Take one”
~ Kelly McDonald

Why can’t I write, I sit down and try
Thinking of ways to make the words fly.

I pen a few words, but nothing seems right
I crumple up paper and send it in flight.

The words used to come, so easy and free
But today I am stumped, why could this be?

I’m trying too hard, I think to myself
As I put down my pen, place paper on shelf.

Words can’t be forced I must be inspired
I’ll go and relax, my mind has grown tired

Clear minded I’ll start, fresh and anew
Ready and raring to tackle “take two”

KellSue~
Just the thing to send
writer's block on the run,
a poem about it's slack or lack
poking a little fun.

Adorable.

ROFL      This was cute girl!  Don't you hate it when that happens?  *sigh*  I've been blocked now for a few days myself....   I've even tried Ex-Lax!  (wouldn't recommend it!)  Does nothing for writer's "block"....   About all it inspires, is maybe a ditty about toilet paper or the likes.  LOL

"Charmin, Charmin, he's our man
if he can't clean us, NO ONE can!"

See, it sucks to be blocked ??!!!   ROFLMAO

Great work, Kelly.

It is said that at most adverse moments, one often finds that ounce of courage to bounce back, which he never humanly imagined to be present in him...

Regards, Sudhir.

 Life is like a painting,
That in an art gallery is left hanging,
Though many come just to look at it,
A very few actually come to enjoy it.

Marge ~ I'm so glad you liked it, it means a lot coming from someone whose writing I've come to admire! I had so much fun writing it!

Walt ~ I'm going to stop at the store tomorrow and pick up a piolet gel pen...maybe that's what I've been doing wrong all along...using the wrong pen!?   Thank you for stopping by!!

Netswan ~ I'm glad you liked it...sometimes writers block isn't as bad as we think, is it...sometimes it inspires us!!  I think I'll go look for yours if they're on here...bet I love 'em just like your others!  Everyone needs to write a light-hearted poem now and then!

Kit ~ You said it perfectly...I couldn't beat it so I joined it!  I'm so glad you loved it, that means a lot!

poetFemmeFatale ~ LMAO!!!!!!  Whew!!  I'm soooooooo glad I waited another day to try that Ex-Lax!  Now I know from someone first hand that it doesn't work...for this kind of block anyway! LOL  Hey...you should give the Charmine people a call, maybe they could use you for their next commercial!!  I'm so glad you liked it..I'm honored to have your thumbs up vote!

Denise ~ Thank you! I'm sooooo glad you liked it!

Sudhir ~ The person who said that is very wise...I was about to give up convinced I couldn't come up with anything to write that day and then BAM, there I was writing this as if I had already memorized it previously!  Thank you for the compliment!

Thanks again, everyone!!

~Kelly

Such a nice poem you've written.

And I can really relate to your words, many times I've wanted to start a new poem only to find myself struggling with pen and paper. Most often I end up working on "take five or six"....lol

Again, very nice poem!
