Soulmate?

You looked into my eyes so softly,
With a smile I'll never forget.
I'll always remember that moment,
On that special day we met.

Through these years we've made
Some wonderful memories together.
We've talked about almost everything,
And it seems like I've known you forever.

We've spent so much time apart,
Living our lives on our own.
Yet every time I look into your eyes,
I know our special bond has grown.

We've never been able to let go
Of this unexplained feeling we share.
It's a common thought, glance, word, or song
That's always kept it there.

We know the strength of our feelings,
For we've struggled with them for so long.
And by believing in what's meant to be,
Someday we'll know exactly where we belong.

Above it all, there's nothing in the world
That could ever make us forget
The magical feeling that we first shared
On that special day we met.

Oh please tell me fate, is he my soulmate?

 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean. Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens. Promise me you'll give faith a fighting chance. And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance - I hope you dance.
It he is not.....you will always wish he was.  This is lovely..
Lori-
      This is a great poem. I hope you're one of the lucky few that do find their soulmate, if you haven't already.
Hey Lori,
         like deVine said, you'll know. . . just hope that you're listening when that voice calls. . .
This was a great poem. . . I can feel the confusion and the hope in it. . .
yeppers yeppers...
sounds like soul-mate heaven to me *smile*
perfect poem of devotion.
take care girlie-girl,
jm
 It's amazing
How you make your face just like a wall
How you take your heart and turn it off
How I turn my head and you lose it all ...
And it's unnerving
How one move just puts me by myself
There you go just trusting someone else
Now I know I put us both through hell ...
I'm not sayin
That there was nothing wrong
I just didn't think you'd ever get tired of me
And I'm not sayin
We ever had the right to hold on
I just didn't wanna let you get away from me.
lori~
     I have a very dear friend that is going through the same question right now.  He wonders if he has missed his soulmate, like two ships passing in the night.  I must say the same thing to you that I said to him.  A soulmate is a soulmate -- from the very core of your soul.  When you meet your soul mate, you will know it without a doubt.  And you will meet, for your souls will be drawn together.  Tis the magick of the heart that guides you!
(I know, he always says that I am over optimistic, too!)
and I am all the better for it~
