When I was 10 years old my father went in to the hospital for 325 days. The doctor said that if he lived he would never walk again. Lucky for me he survived and could walk then a year later he suffered 3 severe heart attacks. They can do nothing for him because he is to weak so evey day I watch my father slowly die.
When I was 13 I wrote this poem and could never share it but I love you guys.

As the piano begins to play she starts yo cry
her first brush with death
she's too young to understand why
There's so many things she needed to say
before he was gone
there was so many times she should have said she was sorry
she knew she was wrong
Would he really leave before she got
the courage to say goodbye
why did it have to be him,
why did her father have to die?
If she promised to be good
would he be allowed to stay
can she have one more chance to make him proud
before you take him away
Can he live his last few hours
in peace and have his pain subside
this waiting is pure agony
tell me,when did you pick him
when did you decide
Don't you realize I'll have no one to turn to
if you take him away from me
I can't imagine what life would be like
with out him
I'm begging you don't you see
What will it take to convince you
I need him more than you
please tell me how to change things
tell me what to do
If things can't change I won't be angry
just help me to be strong, help me not to cry
but I have to ask you one more time Lord
why MY father,why?

Rebecca,
Welcome to Passions!!  Very glad to see you post this one.  Excellent writing!!  It is hard to sit back and watch the ones you love slowly slip away.  My mom died almost 8 years ago and it was an awful time for me.  At least it was quick and she did not have to suffer.  My heart goes out to you.  Take care...

I'm glad you felt comfortable enough to share your poem with us!!  I can't even imagine what a horrible time you were going through.  It is very well done.
