          Mother Earth's Cry

How long can I continue to love you,
   As you rape and desecrate
My very being and essence of nature?

How long can I continue to shelter you,
   As you lay waste
my abundant forests and plentiful jungles?

How long can I continue to quench your thirst,
As you pour forth intoxicants into
my crystal streams and life-giving waters?

How long can I continue to warm you,
As your dark clouds of industry ravage
my priceless atmosphere and angelic skies?

How long can I continue to feed and nourish you,
As you multiply and divide beyond
my abundant shores and pristine valleys?

How long can I continue?
   Not long my child ...
      Not long.

/Kit McCallum

Kit~
This is a powerfully moving message.

It moved the heart of this Cherokee as it should move us all.
The time is coming when the spririts say that it will either be returned to the way it was ... or will cease to be.

Poignant and perfect !

Kit~
This says it all. HOW long can she keep doing this, not long.
The mother of all mothers is slowly dying and we are letting her. We have to do something before it is all too late
Thanks for this read.
Maybe this mothers day if we are out and about taking our mums outdoors maybe, we could do the right thing by mother nature as well and make sure we clean up after ourselves and maybe also do abit of a cleanup of the area that we have enjoyed as well
