Praying for the Past

My eyes have been open for so long
And yet I’ve never really seen
Beautiful words to a beautiful song
And a melody in between
Hope were there was none before
Sweet subtleties known only to me
Longing for the one I adore
Praying that “you” and “I” be “we”

Short is beautiful as always.   I enjoyed this poem. It seemed heartfelt.   Welcome to the family.

Tom,
This reminds me of a poem from my childhood.  "Me and you, you and me, that's the way it will always be."  I hope you can become a "we" very soon. I really enjoyed this.
