The Story of my Grandma

I was inside my mommy's tummy
when the Gods put in a call to me.
They said, "Tyler, we're making your grandma today-
how would you like her to be?"

"Hmmm..." I thought, "this is a tough one-
grandmas are a special kind.
I've picked out my mom; I've picked out my dad...
this one's going to take some time."

"She has to be patient and understanding
for those times I'll make a mess;
she has to know about Cheerios and Spaghettios
and big hugs in times of distress.

"She has to take me walking in my stroller
just to get the day's mail;
and even though she won't understand me yet,
she has to listen to my tall tales.

"She has to know about Big Bird and Elmo
and the secrets of Sesame Street.
Sprinkler summers and Big Red floats-
that kind of grandma can't be beat!"

"Well," said the Gods, "that's a really big order!
We'll see what we can do."
Nine months later, I got my wish-
my "order" turned out to be YOU!

*I wrote this for my mom last year, as a Mother's Day gift from my son, who had just turned 1 year old....I thought I'd post it in time for Mother's Day next week.*

This is just adorable !
Your mom had to be so pleased and
we're pleased you are sharing it with us.
I'm not a grandma yet ... but I'll sure remember it whenever I become one.

Very, very cute.

Thank you, everyone, who read this and took the time to comment.  Yes, my mom did enjoy this very much...in fact, it's hanging in her hallway, next to the rows and rows of my son's pictures, LOL!  She is a very proud grandma, to say the least!
